In the epic ice storm of 2007, I completely shattered my right ankle. Went to the ER, hospital full, could not keep me, could not cast me..too swollen. Sent me home wrapped by ambulance..could not fit in car. Could not leave house for two days. Finally got to Dr. Grooms's office by ambulance...saw me immediately. Set me up for surgery for that afternoon. He put in a plate on one side of my ankle, and screws in the other. Excellent surgeon, explained everything well, concerned and involved. My rheumatoligist in Tulsa admired his work and commented on it. Old school professionalism in a nutshell. Admirable. I strongly recommend Dr. Grooms.

Got ACL reconstruction on my left knee from Dr Grooms. Visited him first at his office and his assistant James was very helpful. They are very knowledgeable of anything to do with ACL's. Surgery was just done down the road at three rivers surgical center and Dr Grooms did an excellent job afterwards to help start towards a quick, healthy recovery. Highly recommend him for any problems with knees and ACL's. He took extra time after surgery to answer the many questions we had and made sure we felt comfortable through each step of the process.

Have had knee replacement, and it is wonderful , hard to tell even had it done. scar almost invisible. Also had reverse shoulder surgery as Dr. had fixed it a year or so before and I fell on it, tried to repair, but had to do the reverse. Went great, movement almost as it was, but a few limitations and I am very happy with results. Would highly recommend Dr. Grooms, nice, kind man and obviously knows what he is doing.

I visited Dr. Grooms for a broken finger. They X-rayed it and he said it was the worst possible kind of finger fracture. He said that I could either keep a splint on it for 8 weeks or get it pinned. I told him I would prefer the splint, and he told me that that's what everybody says, and it's harder than I think. I told him I'm not like everybody, and I think I can do it. He kind of chuckled at me in a "yeah right" kind of way. Rather than schedule me a follow-up appointment or give me any sort of advice, he had his nurse put the splint on me, and said that when I am ready to get it pinned, come back and see him. I didn't really know what to say, because he couldn't have made it more obvious how stupid he thought I was. He didn't set the finger, which is very obviously crooked and out of place. I'm guessing he just assumed there was no need, since he knew I wouldn't be able to keep the splint on and would be back to get the surgery. Needless to say, I kept the splint on. I kept it on and didn't bend or move my finger for 8 weeks. and now it has healed wrong and is permanently damaged. Not sure what to do at this point. I play guitar, and this is not good for me at all. Also, I got a bill in the mail for $47 just for the application of the splint, which I immediately changed out when I got home because it didn't hold the finger in place very well at all. He acted unprofessionally and made it obvious that he thought he could heckle me into getting the surgery (and probably squeezing more money out of me). I'm not trying to be totally unfair; at least the other staff members were great and the facility was clean. You'd be better off finding a different doctor though. Also, the reason I rated punctuality so low is because I waited in the eval room for an hour before I was seen.

I saw Dr. Grooms for plantar fascia recently. The staff was very courteous and efficient. Dr. Grooms was very helpful and recommended an injection. I haven't had any pain in over six months. I would definitely recommend Dr Grooms to anyone looking for an orthopedic doctor. I personally didn't have a long wait but I would much rather wait for a Wonderful Doctor like Dr. Grooms any day.

Found him to be very intelligent and skilled with my son's shoulder injury. Took great care to try less invasive methods of treatment before using the knife. Once those efforts didn't work, he was very skilled and made sure my son had top notch care. I would recommend Dr. Grooms for sure!
