I had a heart attack and was at Winter Park hospital. They gave me him as a dr. I have been going to him since 2003 but have stopped. I now get my meds through my family dr. He has no eye contact and doesn't even look at me when I go in for a visit. Its a waste of time and money. Then the PA started coming in because he was always late or with patients. I haven't been there in years because he don't even acknowledge you are in the room. He only types on the computer and leaves. A waste of time.

I have been hospitalized 4x's for the same issue, after being addmitted to FH in Winterpark. I was recommended as an outpatient f/u. The 1st Dr. I saw told me I had mito valve prolapse and I may need a heart transplant, have valves repaired or die. I am a healthy 36yo female, there was no eye contact and the visit lasted less than 5 mins. After being hospitalized a 2nd time, I told my PCP that I didn't want to see that MD so he had me see Kothari, I wore a halter monitor, and was on a heart recorder for 6wks, during that time my HR got up to 144bpm and Kothari wanted to know what I was doing, and I replied NOTHING, I was scheduled for a Tilt Table test but was told I would have to be off meds for 3days so we decided to wait for another episode, unfortunately 2 mons later I'm back in the hospital Kothari wants to send me home WITH NO MEDS, I asked to stay in the hospital out of fear I would pass out again, HE STATED IT WOULD BE A WASTE OF TIME to keep me until the test.STAY AWAY

I got this doctor through Florida Hospital after bypass surgery there. Didn't have a cardiologist prior to that. He ordered a stress test several months after that and was very late showing up. The nurses there casually made a coment about him never being on time. A visist to his office was also an unpleasant experience. He sent someone into the exam room to tell his assistand to hurry up as there were more patients waiting. The assitant came back and told me that it wasn't necessary for the doctor to see me. I insisted and Kothari showed up with a thin smile and sat down in front of the computer. My impression was that him and his staff don't really care much. Needles to say I changed to another cardiologist a while back. My advice is to stay away from this guy.

I wanted a second opinion about the need for a heart catherization. I was advised to see this doctor. I went to the office, his staff was rude to the point of being ignorant(Oviedo location)I asked if they had my records from the referring doctor and as to my expectation they did not so I gave them a copy of what I had. After waiting for over an hour Dr Kothari walked in very flustered and distracted. He went directly to a computer and I told him that my report was given to the front desk girl. He smiled big and said, "oh ok well what's your issue"? Obviously he is not anymore prepared for his day than his office staff is. STAY AWAY!
