After falling and breaking my hip, Dr. Peterson did a hip replacement. Two weeks after my replacement, I went for my check-up and to have my stitches out. He did not take an x-ray to see how my hip was doing, just removed the stitches. He told me and my sister-in-law that I was free to go...that I no longer needed my walker. My sister-in-law stated a concern that I should use my walker for a bit longer but he dismissed her concern. Three hours later,Yes, only three (3) hours later, it dislocated while I went to the bank. Maybe 5 or 6 steps into the bank, my hip dislocated. I crashed to the floor. I have never known such pain. It was excrutiating. Once I got to the hospital, they called Dr. Peterson. He came in and yelled at me. He was so mad. He treated me like I did something wrong. He didn't even want to give me anything for the pain while he put the replacement back into place. I made them put me out before he was going to pull my hip back into place. I was/am traumatized that it might happen again. He was very rude. He did not care that I was hurting nor did he ever apologize that I now had to deal with a fractured hip and even more pain because of his carelessness. He treated me like it was MY fault that it dislocated! Are you kidding me? My greater trochantor fracture was left untreated for 9 months. I saw him every month and each visit, he would tell me the fracture would heal. He lied to me each visit telling me it was healing but the fracture was actually getting bigger. He refused to do anything to help me. By the time I went to another Dr, the bone was already dead due to lack of blood and circulation to that area. A new Dr. tried two different times to fix the fracture. He used cadaver bone the first time and my hip bone the 2nd time. We were hopeful but the new Dr. let me know that it might not work. AT LEAST HE TRIED. Dr. Peterson did nothing! Nothing! Dr. Peterson let it go so long that it didn't even have a chance. I can't do the things I use to. I am in pain all the time. I would suggest to anyone who needs an orthopedic surgeon, do NOT go to Dr. Randolph Peterson! I finally got on disability because I can not stand, sit or walk for any length of time. I am grateful that I can still walk but it is not without a price! I wish I would have known more about him but unlucky for me, he was the Dr. on call the night I fell and broke my hip!

Removed my sons cast too early (3 weeks). I told him that he should leave it on longer that my son is very active and that I felt that it was too soon to remove the cast, but he dismissed my concerns and said I didn't know what I was talking about. Three days later we were back in his office getting another cast put on because my son had re-fractured his arm. I contested having to pay for his services a second time but was charged anyway and it cost more the second time around. I would not take an injured dog to this man for treatment.
