If it wasn't. For Dr.Herbert j. Roth jr. I. More than likely. Wouldn't be walking now. He fixed my shattered. Back. That I walked around with fjr 23yrs. And then i broke it again. I was so blessed to have him fix me again. I truely trust no-one else to do any surgery on my back but Dr.Herbert j. Roth jr. To me he is the best.

Dr. Herbert Roth Jr. , orthopedic surgeon, misguided a sharp instrument during my surgery adding additional unnecessary injury. He then tried to cover up his mistake. Other doctors I have seen are bewildered at his carelessness and outdated surgical methods. Because I chose doctor Roth, I am suffering the consequences for the rest of my life due to his negligence and require additional surgeries to deal with his mistakes. Based on my experience, Dr. Roth lacks credibility and cannot be trusted.

Had l4-l5 laminotomy in June 2014. Relieved the severe leg pain, but 14 months post op, still have lots of nerve pain and numbness issues in both feet and calves. I believe he is a great surgeon, and Nonie his NP is outstanding...but I wish there were more options for treating the on-going side effects of the surgery...really don't want more surgery...spinal fusion.

I have been seeing Dr Roth for several years now for severe spinal stenosis & other disc related problems in both my neck & lower back. I believe highly in his skills & would & have recommended him to many people. While he has done four surgeries 3 on my neck & 1 on my lower back he will not do surgery unless he feels he can help by doing so. He & his staff are great people!

In my experience, Dr. Roth was direct, informative, but also inflexible and ultimately disappointing. Long story: he performed a surgery on me, but he became obstinant when I had persistant, long standing (greater than a year) post-operative pain. I accepted his assurances of "give it time" and "just live your life" for a year. But after a year had passed I was getting worse, not better. I returned to his office a couple times after the one year mark, but he just kept on with the same tired line: "give it time, get on with your life." He seemed not to understand that pain limits what a person can do, so "getting on with it" wasn't happening. Ultimately I visited another surgeon who took the time to order two simple tests (MRI, temporary nerve block). The new surgeon then prescribed a course of treatment: 3 simple epidural injections. I had them over the course of 3 months, and now my low back is painless (4 months since last injection). If Dr. Roth had been less stuborn . . .

Approachable, patient, involves me so I am aware. There is no substitute for patient self-advocation so be aware and informed so you can ask meaningful questions and understand what the doctor and staff share. They have bent over backwards to handle off hours calls, rescheduling of appointments. Sometimes there's a delay in being seen of 20 to 30 minutes. Pleasant office environment and plans for a possible wait are a tradeoff I would make everytime so I can get the care and attention I need. I never feel rushed or dismissed.
