I have been going to her for 3 years and she is also the doctor who delivered me when I was born. My family has never had a problem with her and has always felt that she is a bit cold but still a good doctor. I have decided that my most recent visit with her was my last. I mentioned that I am now on prescribed Xanax for my anxiety and that my psychiatrist is very involved in monitoring it. She told me that Xanax is the worst drug in the world, that no one wants to become an addict, and then went on to talk about how dangerous fentanyl is. I take Xanax that I pick up from CVS and am in no way being exposed to fentanyl, so her even talking about it felt entirely inappropriate. She told me that the few times I have taken the medication is still "more than the normal person". She cut off my appointment and said she would send in a refill for my birth control. Then she shut the door in my face even though I was leaving the room at the same time as her and I didn't see her again. She denied my request for a birth control refill through CVS and put "refill not appropriate" as her reasoning. She never responded to my calls to the practice. My psychiatrist had to reach out before she actually corrected this. She knows that the birth control I take is important to my health and keeps me from having heavy, painful periods. I didn't get to discuss my current menstrual concerns and the appointment was a waste of a copay. She put her personal feelings before my healthcare. I feel like she discriminated based on mental illness and I wouldn't recommend anybody with mental illness see her.

I have been a patient of this practice for 11 years and I am still on the fence. I am currently pregnant for the first time. Dr. Wurst has been great, but has expressed HER philosophy on labor and delivery without asking about mine. I have seen a different practician for each visit. I have an unrelated disease and I don't feel like there has been any questions or testing as to how my illness may be effecting my pregnancy. I'm considering interviewing a midwife. Although PWH has midwives in their practice they are far more medical than a traditional midwife. Because of my history I will most likely continue with the practice, but I'm not thrilled with them.

I really like Dr. Wurst's personality. She smiles a lot and is talkative. We have some different ideas about childbirth (I find her to be a bit pro-intervention, while I am more into "letting nature take its course"), so she isn't my very favorite person to see for obstetrics visits, but I like her as a person and see her for annual exams.

She is a horrible woman. She was openly rude and challenging. She said she "knew I wanted surgery" which was completely inaccurate and only based on her gossiping with a previous physician I'd had a bad experience with (I know this because I asked her and she simply didn't deny it). Getting information on endometriosis from her was liking pulling teeth - she acted as if I was a comlete waste of her time. She has a very flashy style and was covered in jewelry/bracelets and I'm not even sure she took them off when she examined me. She insisted I go on the Neuva Ring, even though I knew it would be uncomfortable for me. When I told her my reluctance was based on size and sensitivity issues (I know my vagina, thank you!), she mocked me by saying she had 12 year old virgins who were using it. Again, she is a snob and an unethical woman and I suspect she actually hates vaginas! Save yourself the pain and don't go to her.

I didn't like her. She is condescending, doesn't listen and acts like you are wasting her time.

She's terrific! Very down to earth, pragmatic, calming, clear. She's a great listener. You'll wait a long time to see her, but she'll take as much time as you need to answer your questions thoroughly. Great C-section, two beautiful babies!
