Dr. Pfeffer gave barely 5 minutes to the client, lacked attention to the pictures of the injury the client showed him, would not order the MRI and was willing to risk permanent damage. Dr. Pfeffer is not a good diagnostician, wasted a month and causes unnecessary pain and incorrect regrowth of tissue that still needs repair through surgery and should have been done or predicted with MRI. His staff was not responsive, it took many calls and 2 days to get a response from his assistant, who did not seem to understand, listen or help anyway.

WOW, what an amazing year our family has had post surgery with Dr Pfeffer.

I have had so many great things to say about the man and talented Dr Glenn Pfeffer.

Our entire family feels like we owe our lifestyle, our livelihood and future completely to him.

First a little background...surgery like this is a life altering event...choose wisely!

As if your LIFE depends on it, because it does.

Years ago, I thought I had done great research for my husbands elbow and we went with a surgeon in Newport Beach...supposedly the best in his field and he destroyed my husbands arm. He was rude, abrasive, dismissive and had a monster ego. My husband got a raging infection with streaks running to his lymph nodes and he refused to acknowledge it...our hometown hospital had to treat it. Follow ups were a joke and we were discarded the minute insurance payment was final. My husbands arm went from frying pan into the fire. To this day every surgeon tells us that its now too far gone and the surgery compounded all of our issues. At least with his arm, we have all learned to work around the limitations, but with an entire foot rebuild we had ZERO room for error or accepting less than the most excellent surgeon there is.

Forward to the foot: a few years ago on a NYC vacation, walking 20 miles a day, my husbands congenital out-turned flat foot suddenly collapsed ...tearing thru the main ligament. When we realized the severity of the operation , fear was through the roof. Every doctor lacked confidence, or was over confident and removed, like somehow, our outcome was going to be what it was... we needed to accept that life would be different now. Oh my God no.

and then.... DR PFEFFER!!! We love this guy.

Our mad scientist genius!! He gave us hope, infused us with confidence, and made us feel GENUINELY cared for.

My husband is a paramedic in San Diego and is on his feet 24/7 and also always at the gym.

Dr. Pfeffer took one look at my husband and said, "This man is an athlete, and I WILL make him whole...we wont accept any less!"

Are you kidding me?! Dr P had all scans done that day and explained in great detail everything wrong with the foot and essentially he would need to rebuild with cadaver bone, save damaged muscle by doing a gastrocneuius recession and tendon transfer, and column lengthening w/ possible screws... now, we should have been freaking out, but he instilled his contagious explosive excitement in my husband and I both.

Dr Pfeffer LOVES his job and he LOVES his abilities and LOVES a challenge..this man is a badass.

    Surgery...... then postop.

Dr P. showed up after surgery asap and filled me in on my husbands progress. Every follow up in office was unrushed and detailed, like he was meeting old high school friends... we LOVED seeing him and the confidence he instilled during a difficult healing process.

He talked to us in time lines of expectations that were ridiculously accurate. When we worried about pain or swelling or nerves....he was so cavalier and knowledgeable, I swore he was just trying to push off the fact we might have to live with the issues and in time we will eventually accept it.

Nope. Like clockwork, his time windows would come up and just like he said...nerve pain stopped...then aches...and the swelling too....at 10 months my husband was 95%

Dr Pfeffer gave my husband his future , he gave ME my husband... and my sons his whole dad. My husband was back at work on his feet at 9 months post op. We are back on our family vacations...my husband heaves me up in the air and carries me around again, he races his 15 year old son, and we all owe it to one amazing surgeon.

THANK YOU Dr Glenn Pfeffer for sharing your genius with the world and changing so many lives.

Your love of your career , drive to be the best and to never give up shows and has made you THE leader in your field.

We speak of you often Dr Pfeffer, and with great respect.

I had a very severe trimalleolar break and dislocation. Dr. Pfeffer performed a miraculous surgery, and I am walking almost 100%. Without his expertise I am convinced I would have been crippled for life. He is a caring physician, something not always normal for surgeons.

I've been late in writing this review, but was reminded to do so recently because of a comment of how well I've been doing. I'm a mountaineer, or at least I fancy myself one. Last winter, Dr. Pfeffer performed arthroscopic surgery to repair an osteochondral lesion in my right ankle. The injury had occurred nearly two years prior, and after three separate misdiagnoses by other specialists, Dr. Pfeffer used his patience and expertise to get it right. Admittedly, he called my case "a strange one", but his skill cured me. Before the injury, it had gotten to the point where I could barely hike anymore. A walk down the mild sloping rock in Topanga State Park had me limping like an elderly man. Within 6 mths of my surgery, I had begun climbing again, scaling the snow of Mt. Whitney and Mt. Shasta in successive months. Without a bit of pain. Dr. Pfeffer not only solved a problem that no other doctor could diagnose, he fixed it in a way that's given my life vigor again. I highly recommend him.

I am a professional ballet dancer and Dr. Pfeffer truly was an answer to prayers after many other doctors could not diagnose my problem. He knew exactly what was wrong within the first few minutes of talking to him. He is very knowledgable about dancers and confident in his abilities. He performed Os Trigonum surgery on my ankle about 3 months ago and I am recovering extremely well. I would highly recommend him. He was very entertaining with his stories and although he is obviously a busy man I could tell that he cared about my well being. He does sort of pop in and then out again but I felt he truly does his profession well and I had a wonderful experience as his patient.

I almost didn't go see Dr. Pfeffer because of some negative reviews. They say he's arrogant. I didn't see that. I saw confidence - and isn't that what you want in a surgeon? They say he's easily distracted. That's true. He's a friendly guy who likes to talk off topic. Just bring him back by asking a question. They say he dictates into the recorder-thingy in front of the patient. Not a bad thing in my opinion. They say they had to wait to see him. I didn't. I was always seen on time or even early. But even if I had to wait to see him, who cares! Let's talk about what's really important. He's brilliant. Really knows his stuff. He's unbiased. He'll recommend what's best for you - even if it isn't the "sexy" latest procedure that would make him look good. He is excellent at explaining the pros and cons of treatment options and patiently answered all my questions. Most importantly, I had an excellent outcome after a very complicated surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Pfeffer.

When I couldn't walk anymore due to a weak ankle from over stretched ligaments, I looked for the best and found Dr. Pfeffer. I had no problem getting an appointment, they were always on time, even early sometimes. His staff was great. I LOVED working with him. My kids call him the Rockgod of Ankles for helping me walk again. Everything is going right on schedule! I have already recommended him to friends. If my other ankle ever needs work (and hopefully it won't ;-) I would go back to him in a heartbeat.
