I've been a patient at Annacortes Derm for years, and i've never been disappointed - Dr. Hines is brilliant. He's thorough, efficient, and unique in his training and abilities. I've been to skin doctors all over the world; i travel to Annacortes every year from Florida to see Dr. Hines.

Dr. Hines is the most approachable, down to earth physician I've ever used. I drive an hour to see him, though there is no shortage of dermatologists near my home. He's diagnosed problems with my skin that turned out to be demonstrably, potentially catastrophic. Half of medicine is peace of mind, and I'm absolutely satisfied that Dr Hines is more capable, honest, and direct than any other practitioner that I've encountered (and that's saying something).

Don't know if Dr. Hines was ever at Rosario Clinic but he certainly isn't now. He is at Anacortes Dermatology.
I had 3 yrs of on and off cracked and bleeding feet, many visits to six or more different doctors, 3 or 4 bouts of MRSA including two separate ER visits for IV antibiotics and no resolution.

One visit with cracked and bleeding feet and six days later the skin was clear and remains clear a year later.

Dr. Hines is amazing!

Was able to get an appointment in a day for a skin issue I have had for some time. Received very personable and professional service from Dr Hines and his staff. He provided very descriptive explanation of my skin issue using screen photos and suggestions for treatment after taking skin biopsy to send to a lab. I was pleased with the professional service I received.

Pleasant office with a friendly greeting when inside. Was very surprised and appreciative that from scalp to toe I was going to be examined...not just where I had concerns on face, back and neck. Dr Hines notified me of the areas he was going to view and voiced what he saw. His assistant was very helpful to suggest what I use for my dry skin. I’m very pleased and highly recommend Dr.Hines!

I can't recommend Dr. Andy highly enough. I went to him to see if he could help with a long standing--8 or 9 years--infection that no dermatologist or internist I'd gone to had been willing to examine closely, much less help with. He took time to listen to me and then had a good look and recommended an ointment that I've been using for nearly a week, now and which is beginning to clear it up. He let me know it would take awhile--maybe some months, but I'm seeing real improvement already. While I was there, I asked him about a rosacea problem I'd had and which I was concerned about recurring. He looked carefully at my face, said he wasn't convinced it had been rosacea and again recommended an ointment. The roughness and encroaching pink has disappeared completely. Finally I showed him a thumb nail that was being pushed away from the nail bed by what looked like the tusk of a charm bracelet size walrus. After another careful examination, he said it could be a wart or it could be cancer and recommended I return for a biopsy. I did that, and when he cut the nail back said, with both relief and delight that a biopsy wasn't necessary. The problem was either fungal or yeast and he prescribed a medication to heal it. The nail will take some time to grow back, but it will be fine. Dr. Andy and his nurse, Nancy I think is her name, are friendly, professional, knowledgeable humans who treated me with kindness and care and a lovely dash of good humour. I felt completely comfortable with them and I'm so grateful and glad that I found them. Next time my skin plays up, I know who to trust.

I was very happy with my recent visit to Dr. Hines for my full body yearly scan, and also addressing some additional skin issues/concerns I am having. I have had a very difficult time finding a local dermatologist that I feel is doing a good job checking my skin and wanting to support my health. Since I have a history of multiple melanomas it is very important that I find a dermatologist that is knowledgeable and takes care to make sure I stay clear of future issues. Dr. Hines is the first dermatologist that I have found in the area, that took the time to do a thorough body check for the melanoma, and also checked for other skin issues as well. He is very discreet and definitely makes you feel at ease during the exam, which is helpful in such a vulnerable setting. Dr. Hines and his nurse were both extremely helpful prior, during, and after the visit. I was promptly called after test results were received back a few days later and put my mind at ease that the pathology was negative. I am very happy to finally have a great dermatologist on my team here in Anacortes and would definitely recommend him to anyone.

When I called for an appt Dr Hines listened to my concerns and was able to schedule me in less than two weeks. I came in convinced a had a cancer on my nose. Nurse Nancy took me into the examination room, took my info, explained just what would be happening and the sequence. Dr. Hines came in and introduced himself and we shook hands. He first addressed my immediate concern thoroughly and was able to relieve my mind and explain what I'd been seeing that alarmed me but was fine. He then did a complete skin exam, asking me questions about whatever required background info. He identified an actinic keratosis that had been on my forearm so long I'd gotten used to it, as something that was not cancerous but the type of skin growth that might become cancerous over time and he promptly removed it with spray liquid nitrogen, first getting my permission to do so. If ever I have any concerns with my skin I will be returning to Dr Hines.

Totally thrilled with my visit with Dr Hines and Nurse Nancy. Both very professional and related well to me. I found it an intriguing discussion about my visit and the field of dermatology. For me the office was close, scheduling was easy and parking was great.

Dr. Hines spoke with me directly to schedule my appointment. When I arrived early they saw me right away. Dr. Hines listened to my concerns and worked out a course of action for me (hair loss). I felt I had his full focus and that he really cared. Dr. Hines is a great doctor!
