TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!! Lack of post surgery care was completely unprofessional. With intense rib pain with every deep breath over a week out of surgery a CT scan was scheduled. For two days I attempted to get a nurse or doctor to speak to me about the results rather than the RECEPTIONIST (Shaquita) reporting to me that I did not have a pulmonary embolism. When I tried to discuss further she could not. In addition to her lack of customer service skills and lack of being a medical professional whatsoever...she also had no idea about me at all!! Wasn't even aware I'd had surgery!! After two days I finally insisted that a doctor or nurse speak to me. Dr. Beaver did not listen to a word I was saying...talked over top of me for the duration of the VERY SHORT conversation calling me "honey" time and time again adding to my level of irritation. He would only talk about how he would be happy to make me an appointment with my general physician for the apparent cold I have acquired(probably due to my lowered immune from all of this pain I've been in!). A week and a half out and still feels like my ribs are either bruised or cracked. My only guess is they blew me up so much it bruised my ribs. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Dr. Beaver is a WONDERFUL OB and I couldn't be happier since switching over to his practice! He's very kind and patient and his exams are very gentle, unlike some other OB's I've had the displeasure of dealing with. Whereas some other doctors will act like they're in a big hurry and don't have the time for you, Dr. Beaver has always taken the time to answer all my questions. All in all, I can't say enough good things about him!

Although not my regular OB, he was part of the practice I went to. When my induced labor was progressing slowly (on a Friday night), he would not allow my labor to progress normally as I had hoped and "strongly suggested" a C-section against my wishes - even though neither me nor my son were in distress. He gave no real reasons for this suggestion. All went well and both me and my son were fine. I later had an issue with the wound dressing and needed a Rx cream to help the wound - when the nurse called to ask him to prescribe the cream, he was very hesitant and wanted to know if I "really needed it". Later, when he came in to check on me I asked about my son's circumsicion (sp?) and when it would be performed. He asked if I had paid for the procedure and when I told him I did, he said he'd "have to check with (his) office" to be sure I paid! All in all, his bedside manner left a lot to be desired. In my opinion, being a good doctor means more than just having just the knowledge.
