He was our dentist for several years. We moved to NC several years ago and often talk about how much we miss Dr. Lurie. We've even contemplated timing family visits with checkups but it never worked out. :( He was the best dentist we ever had...explained everything, was so up to date with all in the dental world and was patient with anxiety. And even though we are no longer patients-- when we called with dental questions relating back to past charts, he called and stayed on the phone with no rush in his voice at all, talking things out with us 600 miles away. He is the BEST.

Dr. Lurie is the kind of doctor who would be better squirreled away as a researcher and not as a doctor who should work on patients. He is mean to you and puts you down if you need any fillings or work done. Actually berates you to make you feel that your plaque and cavity define you as a bad person. Total lack of compassion. A mild word would be jer k. A more accurate description would start with an A and end with hole. He has a serious problem needing to overcompensate by being better than you. In addition, one small filling took nearly 1.5 hours to fill. He literally yelled at me for having plaque on a back tooth. I guess people still like his dentistry because he has a fancy Breitling watch and a fancy sports car. Maybe his patients have some fetish about enjoying being put down, belittled and demeaned. I won’t be back. Really mean person.

I had been going to Dr Lurie for abot 2 years. In the beginning I like him and his staff. Qs time went on the Dr and his receptionist began to speak abruptly and frankly a little nasty. I suffer from a few chronic illnesses which unfortunately caused me to be a little late to several appointments. I would always apologize and usually call if I was going to be 10 minutes late. Well...this past Wednesday March 3, 2021 was the last straw! I have never been spoken to by who is supposed to be a professional, both the receptionist and the Dr. At one point the receptionist ask me in an extremely nasty tone " Was I out of my mind right now!" I hung up after saying an expletive. My husband who was driving me because I don't anymore heard the entire thing. I asked him to go get my records and tell them I would like to speak with the Dr. From the second my husband walked in the door he was.asked

Scott Lurie of East Brunswick now, formerly Old Bridge and other towns. Mean doctor who seems to hate patients who need dental work. Painful exams and procedures. Going to a nicer, painfree dentist. Avoid Lurie.

I have been a patient of Dr Lurie’s for many years now. I would recommend him to anyone. As a matter of fact, I have. I now take both of my sons to Dr. Lurie. He is kind, compassionate and VERY knowledgeable. He takes care of the “whole” patient. From beginning to end. He follows up with you after dental work that isn’t your routine checkup. Our family is very pleased with Dr. Lurie and with his staff. We will continue to follow him and I will personally continue to recommend new patients to him. I am very fortunate that my friend heard my complaints about the botched dental work that I had received and recommended Dr. Scott Lurie to me. Thank you Dr. Lurie. 😁

Not a nice person. Maybe a good dentist but not a nice person. Due to the bad vibe from him I did not let him do anything with my teeth. Maybe he was having a bad day but I prefer that he not take it out on my teeth. He was punctual but I was a few minutes late (as in three) so they called my cell and were nasty to me. New to the area, I took myself and my family to someone else.

if you want to be talked to in a condescending way and want to be reprimanded like you are one of his children then you will be fine seeing him. He is nasty to his patients and staff. And although he may know what he is doing, there is no way I could recommend him to anyone. I would have let him finish all the work he had to do on my teeth had he been respectful and had bedside manners, but there is no way I could go back to him, not when there are so many good and kind dentists to choose from.

Dr. Lurie is mean. He has the attitude of a bully. My children know better than he does about how to be compassionate to others. I went to get a crown that was too short replaced. He was nasty to me because I needed dental work. Very condescending and told me I came to his office for dental work to get away from my kids and I didn't deserve a video or headphones. Weird, right? Can you imagine if he went to a cardiologist and got scorned for having arterial plaque? Patients deserve professional and respectful care. Dr. Lurie is devoid of compassion. The dental grinch. You deserve better.

Stay away from Dr. Scott Lurie! This place is only after your money. The doctor makes up things that are wrong with your teeth just to get more work. He does not listen to what the patient have to say or prefers. He cannot tell if there is cavity or just plaque from x-ray and exam. His assistant is inexperienced. His office manager Martha thinks she can bully patients when there is disagreement. I would strongly recommend that you avoid this place.
