I was referred to Ms. Allen by Sacred Heart, and my referral stated that I wear a "cast or splint" for 3-4 weeks, until my hand healed. I had broken my hand. I was referred to Dr. Allen for pain management, but she immediately told me that because I was not following my discharge instructions (which stated cast OR splint) by not going to an orthopedic surgeon and having a cast set. Dr. Allen acknowledged the obviously serious extent of my injury, she acknowledged that I was in severe pain, and she refused to help me because she claimed that my inability to acquire a cast was in opposition to my discharge instructions, which I have already stated and could upload a copy that implicitly says CAST OR!!! SPLINT!!

Mrs. Allen is wonderful - she is a Nurse Practioner within Dr. Howell's office however our entire family uses her (my 11 year old son, my boyfriend 46 yo and me 34 yo) and she is well versed in all our cases. My son has ADHD and she has managed his case better than any other "specialist" I have taken him to in the past, along with various colds, infections, etc. that kids get... She has taken excellent care of my boyfriend and I as well, always willing to take the time to listen and respond with true concern and appropriate medical care. Be prepared to wait - she's extremely busy - but definitely worth it!!!
