I have been to Dr. Hong for several appointments over many years. I find him to be knowledgeable and skillful. I don't expect doctors to be avid conversationalists, but he is friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what to make of others' complaints, but I've never had any kind of problem with him. He receives a high recommendation from me.

Interacting with Dr. Hong has to be one of the worst experiences I've had with a doctor. He refused to answer my questions during a scary procedure and has no empathy for his patients. It's my body and I get to say what happens to it. He doesn't respect that and tried to bully me into something I wasn't comfortable with. It's very challenging to get an appointment that is less than a month away. Once you're in there, it's a patient mill and Dr. Hong doesn't have much time for you.

I found Dr Hong to be arrogant and dismissive. He did an unusually quick skin review and told me that my skin looks fine. I had basic questions about caring for my dry skin. He told me I must wash too much and that there is no magic potion. I asked specific questions about ingredients to avoid and ones to use. He said the "the girls upfront" (I assumed his office staff) sold some products if I wanted to check them out. I found him to be wholly unhelpful and will not return.

I have been going to Dr Hong for over 15 years and I have nothing but praise for his professionalism and care. I moved to FL for five years and went to three derms before I found one nearly as professional. I was tempted to keep coming back to CO to see him just as I drove from Steamboat to see him. Calm, professional, timely and knows what he's doing.

Very impersonal! Did not spend any time listening to my cares or concerns. I agree with the "dangerously disinterested" comment made previously. There is simply no level of care given by him. I was in pain and he expressed no level of concern what so ever and made no attempt to try to numb me or be gentle in any way. Will not be returning.

My GP sent me to Dr. Hong to have a pinhead-sized black spot on my leg checked. He said it was vascular, told me he could "zap" it and it would disappear in 5-6 days. Its appearance didn't bother me, I'd only come in to make sure it wasn't serious, and I didn't want to pay extra for a cosmetic procedure. He said there'd be no extra fee and that the procedure was simple, so I agreed to have it done. Over the next 2 weeks, the spot got bigger, turned dark purple, and felt sore to the touch. After waiting a month to make sure it wasn't just a slow healing process, I made a follow-up visit. When Dr. Hong saw the now-4-times-bigger spot, he said, "I missed a spot," re-zapped it, and said no charge for the visit, his mistake. 2 weeks later I got a bill. Thinking it was a mistake, I called to explain, but was told that Dr. Hong refused to waive the fee. This is as unacceptable to me as the large red scar I now have on my leg, where the little black spot once was. Unprofessional in every way.

Dr Hong has been treating me since 1996. Adult acne, mole removal, rashes, botox, skin peels, now Basal Cell CA on my nose. He has always been professional, on-time, and I've never had any complaints about any treatment. All of his work has been consistently good. I now live in Texas, but travel to Boulder twice a year to get my Botox, peels, and have him check out my skin in general.

Dont go to this doctor. He treated me for a cyst and made it worse. Created scar tissue which I've never had, and now need a surgeon instead of a dermatologist according to a second opinion.

The office staff was too busy chatting about their weekends to care they were 45 minutes behind schedule. Dr Hong was short and disinterested. I have struggled with a skin rase for 20 years and Dr Hong told me it was an itchy scratching bug bite...are you kidding me- didn't look at my skin or ask any questions- gave me medication but didn't tell me what it was....He was awful and I would go back to him if he paid me!
