I have had two hip replacements, one shoulder replacement and due for a second shoulder replacement. Generally speaking, orthopedists are a unique breed if they have any sort of good reputation, their offices are packed. I think the practice that Dr. Thompson is part of have an efficient and well run office and he is very much in demand. My shoulder replacement surgery was uneventful and Dr. Thompson's follow-up care was thorough and attentive. I have never seen such fine sutures that left virtually no scar. His bedside manner is upbeat and sometimes brutally honest - just the way I like it. I don't really like going to see doctors but I'm never apprehensive about my appointments with him.

Had a messed up shoulder since a 1987 cycle accident. Repairs by some other doc failed to keep up with me over the following 20 years. In March of 2007 had rotator cuff repaired by Dr. Thompson, and rigiourly followed care instruction and therapy. I was completely repaired in four months and I could even workout with bar bells again. Got in another cycle accident which trash the doctors good work. Going back in to have the new tear repaired because I trust the doc. If you do not take care of yourself/health/weight I can see not getting cottled by this doc. Think team concept toward maintaining health. He's a mechanic, in a very good way. I am scared and unhappy about the need for the surgery but not at all concerned about the doc.

When I fell and shattered my wrist, Dr Thompson was recommended. He did a great job with the surgery. I had to go overseas shortly after the surgery and so I had follow-up care and therapy while away. The doctors there all commented on the beautiful job Dr. Thompson did. I liked him and his genuinely caring attitude. The downsides are too little time spent post-srgery with the doctor and that the brace his asst gave me for my hand while it was healing didn't fit properly.

Probably the rudest, most inconsiderate doctor I've ever seen. Unless you're an athlete, you'll be treated like you deserve whatever is wrong. His partner is much more personable -- I suggest seeing him.

A great doctor that is knowledgable, listens well, and is willing to work with patient. He is an athlete in his personal life which I believe helps him connect with his active patients. He wants the best for his patients and expects them to work at their recovery. A great experience all around, I would definitly recommend this doctor for any upper extremity problems.

The jury is still out with me on this doc. His medical assistant is a hard core gatekeeper and regardless of the issue, you have to talk to her first. She also likes to dispense suggestions which I find highly in appropriate. Dr. Thompson is a very nice man, but diagnosed me with tennis elbow within 2 minutes of talking to me. I am currently in treatment with him, and not impressed thus far.
