I have to say that today I had the worst experience in this office :(
The doctors and PAs are great!
But the office staff is hands down the worst of the worst :(
They give a "bad name" to a practice while Dr. Semler has many awards of recognition for Best of Loudoun!
I called the office to reschedule an appointment to next day so that my child will be able to go to school without being tardy and missing class because they had a opening the next day (school holiday) and I booked it online via their scheduling site. I called the office but the office was closed to reschedule and had to wait till 8AM till the office opened and our appointment was at 8:45AM.
"Debbie" at the front desk took the phone and even when I explained the reason she said the policy is that 24 hours notice or cancellation fee is $50. Come on, I just called the rescheduled to next day because it was a school holiday. What is more important the $50 fee and trying to fill-out all the openings in the day or letting a child go to school and get Education! I was utterly disappointed and then had to speak to their office manager "Yamini" (atleast that is the name I was told). Of course no use, she said that she will ask her workers to look into it and call me back but she could not do anything about the $50 charge to reschedule the appointment.
Their office displays "Cancellation of appointments with less than 24 hours notice will incur a fee".
Note that:
1. 24 hours does "not specify business hours", so my appointment is Monday and over the weekend the office was closed and even the phone call did not take messages.
2. Technically speaking this is not a full cancellation rather a reschedule. The office manager, "Yamini" said that they need to fill out slots and changing the appointment means they have less time to fill it. But don't you'll have kids going to school to get an education? Is filling time slots more important?
What happened next was ridiculous. First Debbie hung up on me. Next I was on wait for at-least 30 mins while I took my child to the appointment. The office manager, Yamini, had time to go to meetings and be with patients (really?? how can you do these two at the same time??? at least that what I was told) but could not look into this and call back in a timely manner.
I think these workers needs to be trained to provide better customer service and review situation case-by-case... Otherwise it brings down the credibility of the practice and the hard-work (I'm sure) that Dr. Semler put in to this practice
