Does not sugar coat the solution. Do it right, or find someone else to bug about your addictions... I needed that. Been 9 years clean n sober thanks to him.

maybe the "tough love" approach works with some but there is no reason to be such an a**hole to someone who is lost, confused, probably unstable individual who is seeking help, simply because my requests to understand and get help with preauthorization for a medecine that although is done on a regular basis with patients my repeated attempts at finding some understanding was met with a high level of aggrivation on doctor guzzettas part. That appointment had me wanting to take a shot more after two months of being clean than I have since detox. I felt crushed walking away from my appointment today. And that's not how I think I should feel leaving the doctor I came to for help.

This doctor sent me for $1200 worth of lab work, most of which I didn't need. I'm not an addict. I'm not an alcoholic. WTH do I need expensive vitamin levels for? I'm not at risk for thyroid disease but now am on the hook for $300 worth of blood tests. The Vitamin levels cost me over $400. I make $14 per hour. Maybe I can cut back of food for six months. Ridiculous.

He does not seem to care much for his patients. It was always his way or the highway. He would also say one thing then do another. With his patients suffering with substance dependence he is very cool and untrusting. I never lied to this man once. I have never broken a law either. I got prescribed too much of an opiate from my GP MD. It made my body psychically dependent. Shame on that dr I am going to leave nameless. This doctor and his front desk ladies need to understand that some people in there have never abused drugs they are just dependent. They acted in a way to where I always felt looked down on. I just was not comfortable anymore seeing him. I found a great Dr in Fresno and am very happy with him. He is a smart man I believe I am also intelligent and work in these areas and have a PhD level of education. I challenged him a few times. He didn't like getting any input from me. Moreover all I advise ( sorry for the tangent) is to stay away if you value a trusting dr pt relationship. Building a positive rapport will be very difficult with this Dr.

Dr Guzzetta is an excellent physician. He is an authority on addiction medicine. He is current with all the latest treatments and planning for patients who are dually diagnosed with chemical dependency and underlying mental health disorders. He may come across as short or uncaring but the opposite is true. He truly cares about his patients and wants them to succes

Dr.Guzzetta is an odd sort he is short with conversation and a man of few words when answering your questions. He is always to the point and gives out very little complements or encouraging words. His bed side manner may not be the greatest. But my husband and I have been seeing him for a few years my husband has sense passed away and I do believe if my husband would of listen to the doctor he would be here with me today.Sure he has told me a few things I did not want to hear and at first I was offended but he was right and I needed that reality check. He is a no nonsense doctor he is a little tough but if you really are sincere about doing the right thing for yourself he is your man I have seen both sides of him and he is a good doctor and for me he has been the best if you just take the time to really understand him you will see why I like him so much. Thanks Doc , DW

Being an addict for 17 years + (opiates), wasn't sure I could ever quit. Some how I was referred to him, & I am blessed to have received his professional help.He is a hard a**, and will call you on bull****(no joke, its what's needed to get the message across to any addict).Listen to what he says, and do what is required for a successful rexovery. Dr.Guzzetta was my first addiction specialist, and in hopes to be my last. Thanks to his help, I've been sober for a year :) For those who said "he's rude, he's mean, he has erratic moods" just shut it up, and sober up, apparently your still a bit sensitive to reality.. Seriously he's a teddy bear at heart, smart, honest, ok he is good looking too, and cares for his patients in ways that other Dr's sugar coats things as to where he ain't gonna bs you to begin with. Thank you Dr Guzzetta and to your staff as well.
