I wish i would have read the posting from the OR Nurse concerning D’Agostini - link below for reference
https://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/131529/Dr-Robert+J.-D'Agostini-CEDAR+KNOLLS-NJ.html/
Had i read this i wouldn’t have had to go through revision surgery - right after I had a hip replacement. I wouldn’t have had to go on disability. I would have lost a year of my life fighting to get to back to where i was before the first surgery. While D’Agostini can be a great surgeon, who wants to take the risk of who’s going to show up for surgery - the great surgeon or the man who doesn’t give a crap.

I work directly with Dr. dAgostini hands. I’m sorry but in addition to his horrible personality, you know by the time you’re an old man like him you should be able to regulate your behavior somewhat so he was suspended from the hospital for probably lashing out at someone at someone at somebody in one of his bad moods, I would hope, maybe at least stay more some Medical Center employee because when he gets frustrated in the operating room, he freaks out like a raging orangutan. Which, if you’re having surgery you don’t need the whole entire room to be scared during your surgery because nobody functions well when they are experiencing the flight part of a fight or flight situation. I worked in the operating room there for 20 years and in order to be a good operating room nurse. Unfortunately you need to be able to work with a range of different personalities. This surgeon, Dr. D’Agostini in an attempt to move himself faster to keep up with some of the brilliant surgeons there, that he works with some of them in his group, he takes lots of shortcuts, for instance, during a total knee replacement of which I’ve been involved in thousands doctor and every one of his colleagues that’s busy trials the parts that they’re going to cement into your body to make sure that there going to work and they don’t need to do any extra little cuts or anything talk to dAgostini decided at some point to stop trailing parts now if you don’t know if it doesn’t work in real life and someone’s cements without testing it that is truly malpractice and I personally never had a problem working with them so that’s not where it’s coming from. There is no reason to go to him. Some people get excited like it’s a badge of honor to be operated on by him, but enjoy the possible negative outcomes that can come from a surgeon who doesn’t make sure everything fits before your implants are cemented in because he wants to be faster, that is malpractice.

I had a total knee replacement with him almost 7 months ago and the mistake i made was scheduling with him after our first visit.I chalked it up to bad bedside manner and was hoping his skills as a surgeon would make up for his total rudeness .i brought my fiance to next meeting to set up surgery and he could not believe his abrupt attitude and how it was ALL ABOUT HIM and you could not question anything, if you didnt like what he said then go somewhwhere else attitude.i was so ready for this knee replacement that i just went with him,i had my other knee done 4 years ago at HSS IN NY but because of COVID we didnt want to go to City, after surgery he came in waiting room and bragged to Ron that he did surgery in 37 minutes instead of 36 and Ron couldnt belive it as my other knee took a couple of hours,he wants his patients in and out same day , i am 73 years old and was so afraid to leave that day but PTS who worked with me said i had to stay overnite, i was actually afraid of him at this point because of his mannerism.my first post visit with him 10 days later was a total nitemare , my friend who is a recovery room nurse in morristown hospital went with me, she could not believe the way he spoke to me and treated me, if you dared ask him a question he shut you down and got really nasty. bottom line is i had to go to another doctor because the pain was so bad and he refused tramadol after 10 days, i had to beg for another script, when i saw the other surgeon he said the reason i was in such pain is because he never took the time to stretch the ligaments on sides of knee causing extreme swelling and pain for months,He should not be allowed to interact with patients at all as his Ego is ridiculous and he does Not know how to speak to people, i dont care if hes the best surgeon in the world, his behavior is beyond horrible and i could go on forever about his treatment , Morristown should be ashamed to have him on the Staff and as i told his surgical coordinator on a few occasions, im sure she hears this all the time, i hope this review helps anyone thinking of going to him ,

I had two surgeries in my shoulder, shoulder rotor tendon cuff. He doesn't listen the patient, he was very disrespectful and even yelled me in several times, he doesn't care about help the patient, he is very smug and i would say that he has racist tendencies. He doesn't have a friendly approach to the patients. I would never recommend this doctor.

6 years ago I was recommended to this doctor for a torn rotator cuff injury by my primary orthopedist who claimed he was one of the best. WHAT a disappointment ! This doctor may know his stuff but a patient would never know it because this man thinks he's God and he's doing YOU a FAVOR by seeing you. The receptionist that met met me at the window sounded like a cigarette and beer bottle bar broad and was accusatory in my lack of providing documents that were faxed directly to that practice (she eventually found them THERE !) He spoke down to me as if I were a complete moron, and even rejected and stopped me in the middle of describing what my Ortho had told me by saying, " I'LL TELL WHAT THE MRI INDICATES! - I DON'T NEED DR. SO-AND-SO's OPINION !" When I went back to my ortho to go over D'Agostini's report I told my Doc, " Before I would let this guy TOUCH me - I would have my VETERINARIAN perform the necessary surgery!" This doctor is so full of himself and constipated that you couldn't shove a rice kernel up his butt with a SLEDGE HAMMER!!! I cannot FATHOM what it would be like to work for him or what his poor wife and family must endure! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! (I don't care HOW MANY pictures and NFL, NHL, MLB autographed Jerseys he has on his wall. !!! HE'S UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED !!!!!!!!!

I had a tibia plateau fracture back in 2015. Dr. Dags was recommended by another doctor at TriCounty and said he’ll take good care of me. I looked up the reviews and saw all the negative comments, and me, not being a person who handles confrontation well, thought about finding a different doctor. But, that would have been a mistake. He is an awesome doctor and took care of me well. I had no problems with him as a person either. He spent nearly an hour with me in the hospital on my release day after the surgery. But he is no-nonsense, to the point, and all business. If you can accept that in a doctor and not expect to be babied and pampered, you will like him and get great care. When I was waiting for the surgery to begin, another doctor was there and I told him the nature of the break and he paled a bit and then said – Don’t worry about it, Dr. Dags will fix it perfectly. Indeed he did. On a last note, on several occasions, other health care professionals in the hospital and at tricounty, indicated to me that Dr. Dags like me based on how he was treating me and taking care. I did feel that him and I had a connection.

Came with back in my hip, was told it's bursitis and got injection. When I asked will it help Dr. crossed his fingers and said let's hope it will. I was suppose to be on meds for a month and seek for physical therapy which I did. Nothing helped. Second day in a row I'm trying to get and appt with doctor to get prescription for an MRI meanwhile I'm not mobile, took a second day from work as I can't even shower on my own from pain. So at this point I was scheduled with another doctor next week (no idea how I'm going to deal with pain till then).

Robert D'Agostini has to be one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. I too, as many others have commented, found him to be extremely rude and arrogant. He operated on my foot and was unable to correct my problem. Ironically, a doc from Tri-county fixed it.... I see he is now part of the Tri-county team! Yikes. I will stay far away from them now too!

I found him to be knowledgeable, informative and competent. All business. I felt confident that he could resolve my problem. If you want a hand-holding, buttercup, he's not your man. But if you want someone to solve your problem, then he IS your man.
