I have been there probably 7-8 times. I have never seen the doctor. I was told that 12 million sperm count is what is needed for iui now it 7 million. I get a different nurse every time. Only now after setting an appointment and waiting 4 weeks has the doctor so graciously allowed us to talk with him. We have done iui 7 times and 2 times ago they said they would change things up but haven't. Nothing has been done for my low sperm count and a nurse hasn't even talked to me about it. It seems they just want to collect my money each time knowing we will fail. Don't waste your time and money.

I am shocked at other people's reviews. Most people are complaining that the nurses ran the show, but that is the case at all of the reproductive specialist. At all of the offices you have to leave a message and they get back to you when they can. I found this office responded much quicker than any other office. After struggling at two other offices we though Gehlbachs office was AMAZING. We didn't have to fight for appointments, they actually return your phone calls, they work on weekends when necessary. This office was a million times better than the other ones we went to!

I second a lot of these opinions. I also never saw the doctor and frankly there was no way he was looking over my chart as decisions were always made on the spot between me and the nurses. I went here for seven months before switching doctors. The difference in the testing between the new place and this was night and day. With dr. Gelbachs office I was tested for STD and my thyroid, oh and a mental health evaluation. No checking of my cervix, uterus, Fallopian tubes, etc. even after five failed Iui attempts. There was never any mention of how I could improve thing, at one point I had to give myself the trigger shot and was told the timing didn't matter. Honestly I should have left then but when you are full of hormones and want a baby you may not be thinking clearly. Another point of concern was when I took letrozole and was told I needed a blood test to confirm negative pregnancy before continuing, that happened once and it wasn't brought up again. I never said I was switching doctors and never received any follow up phone calls on if I wanted to continue. I am leery of recommending this doctor, either he is overbooked and his nurses are not qualified or they don't mind taking thousands of dollars from people.

I am a foreigner and have never felt so neglected as a patient. I stuck it out thinking that this was just the way things are done here but eventually went to see my obgyn who recommended I get a second opinion.

Having to see a reproductive endocrinologist is an emotional ordeal. It's hard enough finding out you're not able to conceive and being poked and prodded for blood and other tests, and then having to deal with staff that have poor bedside manner and make you feel like your being irrational and unreasonable when you have a million questions in trying to understand what your body is going through... It's unacceptable!

I can't really rate Dr Gehlbach as I only ever saw him once, briefly in the 18 months I have been his patient. During that time I have dealt with the nurse practitioners, and although they are lovely people I feel I'm not getting the quality care I deserve. I feel all my questions are avoided and I'm given vague answers or I'm given a while bunch of statistics that seem to be thumb-sucked.

I have been told at multiple visits that my case is closely followed by Dr Gehlbach, but who knows...

The adminstrative staff are less than friendly and are eager to get the payments and shove you out the door. I've been to these offices multiple times to get ultrasound or lab draws done and they are quick to take my money but not so quick to help when I really need something done. (I should mention I have never not paid. They have always received their money immediately so there is no cause to hound me).

I requested my medical records to get a second opinion and despite being told when I paid to have them release that they're be ready in 2 weeks, they were not. I came to collect them and after "checking in"with the receptionist who didn't even make eye contact, I was ignored until she had completed printing them off. Appalling service!

I sadly would not recommend Midwest Reproductive Center.

If you have EVER been seen here for ANY reason, I strongly suggest that you call to see if you have money on your account that is owed to you.

I am really disappointed with this center. I was really excited about receiving ways to help with why I cant get pregnant. I have been now told that in order to take Femera I have to do the ultra sound and HCG shot. Where as my insurance wont cover the HCG shot or the ultra sound because its not diagnostic. So because I'm not willing to pay for that part, I'm not allowed to try just taking the medicine??? I think since infertility is already expensive, patients should be able to "choose" to just do the medicine. I am not impressed with the fact that as a patient a full panel of my hormones was not done. Just the thyroid. What about estrogen, or progesterone? I am just disappointed. Thank you for making this process that's already difficult even more difficult. The communication is not good with this group. They are out for the money. The north Kansas City office is awful too!! Definitely going to look for a different one! Stay clear of this center!!

After reading some of the comments I was very apprehensive about going to Dr. Gehlbach but my primary doctor said he was the best. My husband and I have nothing but praise for both the doctor and his staff. A couple of days after surgery he personally called with the results and to see how I was doing. His bedside manner was excellent and I will not hesitate to reccomend Dr. Gehlbach to family or friends.

Waste of time going to this doctor. Please don't waste your money. There will be no follow up calls nothing. Just do the treatment and forget about you. I did two IUI treatments both were not successful but there was no recommendations on what we could do to improve our chances whether we need any dietary changes or medications. Nothing. We visited their North Kansas City branch where you will only see the nurse practitioner it's impossible to meet Dr Galbech there. Jus feel I wasted my money may be we needed some other treatment. We are now going to another doctor and noticing some changes she has advised hoping for some good results.

Dr. Gehlbach answers questions by spouting off statistics and skirts around questions that he has no statistics on. His bedside manner is horrible along with his nurse practitioner staff. His front office gals are nice which is the one plus I can say about them. I requested a copy of my medical records and they have a bunch of misinformation in them. Save your time and money and don't go to Gehlbach.
