Dr. Shamma'A has to be the worst doctor I've ever been to (which some others have mentioned as well). I am extremely disappointed as my PCP called to make the appointment and asked for a different doctor in the clinic, but I was sent to him. The person who came in before him was extremely nice and took a very detailed history. The doctor I was supposed to see was actually a second opinion that my regular doctor wanted me to get. As soon as I told him I already had a colonoscopy done with a different doctor, he said, "Oh, that doctor wasn't good enough for you??" which I thought was incredibly rude. Then I explained that the previous doctor was out of the office for months and I was coming at my regular doctor's orders. My problems have been going on since February and it is now July, so my family doctor didn't want me to wait any longer. He did not offer any advice to help, he is simply going to repeat one stool test that has already been done that was negative. He said that unless that test shows something different, then he is unable to help me. He said that maybe my regular doctor should do some more blood tests (they've already done extensive testing and repeated some of them). I was scheduled for a 6 month follow up appointment, which I think is pretty terrible, considering this has already been going on for almost six months. I will not be keeping that appointment.

Dr. Shamma'A is the worst Doctor I have ever seen. I started to have rectal bleeding in March and 2 of my other doctors refereed me for a colonoscopy. He did not schedule an office visit till August then did not schedule the colonoscopy till late October (7 months from when I started bleeding). He was extremely rude and condescending during the office visit and told me did not see a reason for a colonoscopy. At the colonoscopy he did not talk to me before the procedure, he had an underling have me sign forms. After the procedure he met with my wife and was even more rude and condescending. He advised her he took several biopsies because my other Doctors had requested them and would "not do another colonoscopy on me ever." He called me 2 days later and in a 40 second conversation he told me I had several ulcerative colitis and that I had cancer, they were going to take my colon, I will live with a bag for the rest of my life and I should call my other doctors then hung up.

He was convinced there was nothing wrong with me when he walked in the room and treated me horribly except for the one time that I had my boyfriend with me. He failed to listen or diagnose me and performed a colonoscopy with me awake and told me how uncomfortable it would be ahead of time in an effort to get me to leave without investigating my problems at all. I suffered for years until a new gastroenterologist came to my area. I vowed never to go back but find myself having to now that a much better doctor has diagnosed me with severe problems because he is the ONLY motility specialist covered by medicaid.

I am so unhappy with this Dr. If I never speak to him again, it will be too soon. I'm sure he is knowledgable, however, he is rude, cocky and very insensitive. He saw my very ill mother in ICU. Performed an upper GI, DID NOT answer my questions, even though in his report he stated he did, and gave the impression she was too sick to bother with his time. His staff were very friendly, but not even their kindness clears the doctors horridness.

He was very rude. Told me that I may have a problem but it wasn't his problem because it wasn't a GI issue. I had traveled 4 hours to see him. I explained that my doctor was wanting him hoping that if he didn't have an anwswer i could see someone else at WVU that might, he told me that he didn't do referrals. Then went on to tell me that if I took hormones that maybe I would be better, that women needed hormones. Sorry doc, that's not your problem! Total jacka$$!

I felt rushed and he didn't comply to what i have went through with my disease and didn't know much about my medications i was taking. Didn't the first words out of his mouth when he said that he doesn't have visits without his interns or fellowship Dr.s coming into the room first to write down everything i need the Dr. to help me with. In my eyes that is lazy and he doesn't want to take the time out of his busy schedule to deal with a single patient and he told me he had 4 other paitients waiting to be seen. He is to old fashion for me and i think for someone that has done that profession for so many years would know how to treat their patients. I will never go back to see that G.I. Dr. again and wouldn't advise anyone that needs a Dr. to help them with their disease. He likes to push only certian medications and probably gets endorsments for doing so. People need Dr.s that are not afraid to do more than give old meds that have proven not to help for diseases!

He has been very helpful with adhesions in my intestines. The required 2 month interval for dialation of the adhesions has been followed very strictly and his staff is wonderful.

My Mother saw Dr. Ye first, which was difficult for her, as his English was OK, but she is hard of hearing and he talked to me, instead of her, but, Dr. ShammaaA, was Wonderful with her. He explained in Detail what tests he was going to order and what he was looking for and what he would have her GP do, if the tests were negative. Overall she and I were very pleased with the visit. I was pleased with Dr.Ye. He was very thorough in his exam, his questions were precise and to the point, he explained about the possiblilites of allergies. Again the only problem, was his English and her hearing. Had she been alone, she would have been lost.
