One of the worst doctor's I've seen. He spent less than a minute talking with me about my issues and provided no advice or guidance on my condition. This happened multiple times.

Shocked anyone goes to him. Please go see another Urologist with higher reviews (all of whom have been able to help me figure out my condition and steps forward).

Total waste of time going to him.

I’ve been under Dr. Niku’s care for several years. I must say, reading some of the reviews in this forum are offensive to me, as I cannot believe that patients can be so rude and inconsiderate and absolutely wrong in their evaluation of this dedicated doctor. I’ve been under his care for at least three years and have always left his office feeling I am in good hands. Unlike the negative comments I’ve read, his staff was always very professional, thorough and considerate. Dr, Niku has always taken adequate time explaining everything I needed to know and more importantly, his demeanor is nothing less than a pleasure from this patient’s view. I’ve had several medical procedures and a recent surgery, all with 100% satisfaction and results. People need to understand that a patient/doctor relationship requires both the patient and the physician to work together to achieve great medical care. Good health is a team effort and requires patient participation as much as professional care by the doctor and his/her staff. Dr. Niku has 100% trust and respect from me and his medical care is great.

I was treated by this doctor for bladder cancer. His staff are rude and demeaning. When I have come for office visits they are rude and totally disorganized and simply do not care. I had an upcoming surgery with Dr Niku that I canceled because I lost confidence in him due to the manner in which his staff had treated me.

I was diagnosed with a form of bladder cancer in June 2015. The tumor was to be removed and follow up blood work a chest xray , ekg had to be completed before surgery. I was never informed about these tests. I by luck called the office two days before the surgery. I was then told they need to be done. Dr.Niku's nurse or nurses aid maybe told me she had called and left severel messages. I had never received one call regarding this. She became argumentative and I called her a liar. I had to take off a day from work to get the tests in so I could have the surgery. After the tumor was removed the results were sent to pathology and would be back within a week. Dr. Niku was going on vacation and wanted me to wait until he came back the following week. I was quite anxious. I was told by him he would go over the results of the biopsy as soon as he got back. I called the office and informed them of this. One of his staff told me flat out that he was booked up for another ten days. I practically begged her and asked if another Dr could give me the results. She displayed no empathy. Only after called the insurance company did he respond. Dr Niku might be a good doctor but he does not appear to care about his reputation or his patients.

Dr. Niku is knowledgeable and is one of the top urologists in the country. He has a wonderful bedside manner that I saw every day I was in the hospital for a month. He has a cheerful demeanor, yet talks straight. He explains procedures in a way a patient can understand them. As an outpatient he has been great with my recovery. He cleared the deck to fit me in when I thought I needed to see him. I feel that he is a Dr. that stays current and is on top of the latest treatments and medications. He is a nice guy on top of it all. I highly recommend him.

I only saw this doctor once for my kidney problem. He seems like a nice person, I don't know how knowledgeable he is, as I did not get a chance to work with him. His staff is a disaster at the Mission Hills office. The authorization request for a CT scan got denied only due to the reason that the office staff, or the doctor, failed to submit proper documentation to the insurance/medical group for approval. I talked to the office four times asking them to fax the proper paperwork to the medical group so they can approve my CT scan. Every time I would call, they would tell me that they will fax it. Never got done. Instead, they faxed irrelevant paperwork and my CT scan got denied. Terrible office! This doctor's office seems to be a chaos and it seems the doctor does not care about the reputation. I am switching to another doctor. Got no help from this doctor and I do not want to waste my time with this doctor if he cannot put his employees and office together.

I have been a patient of Dr. Niku's for about 5 years now. I must say that he is extremely thorough and knowledgeable and is also and extremely kind and caring person. He always takes the time to listen (not like many of the other Doctors I have seen). I have never really had to wait for more than a few minutes to be seen.

Dr. Niku seems like a nice person but his staff is as rude as you can get them. I called an was transferred to a voice mail. I was having an emergency and left a message for him or somebody to call me. Nobody did. These people make you feel like they are doing you a favor by talking to you. If he changes his staff, us the patients would feel a lot more comfortable and confident. Terrible service. This is for the staff in his Encino office.
