Since I can't update my prior review, I'm updating the prior one as it's been several years and while the Dr has been fine , his front office is MIA. I've had and confirmed blood work requests and his two key people that handled this (Brandon and Cindy- front office) are no longer with him and when you call you get Jackeline who argues with you and is useless. Today, the second time I've showed up after making the appointment with Quest, show up and there's no RX for it. Mind you I had seen the Dr. for another matter less than a month ago and confirmed the upcoming physical and needing my blood work. I was told that it's in the system. Today, nothing. So, I had to cancel my physical and now am here looking for a new GP. I would of loved to stayed with him (been with him over 20 years) but unfortunately I can't keep showing up for blood work only to be told it's not in the system with either Quest OR Dr. Ghiyams office.

Retaliatory, resulting in elder abuse.
I was a satisfied patient for about 10 years but lost confidence due to a misdiagnosis and down-hill spiral in care as my issues were no longer routine. The P.A. diagnosed my painful swollen foot as a heart condition with a referral to a cardiologist. Dr. Ghiyam was annoyed at my return visit, 3 weeks later due to worsening pain, continuing to support his P.A.'s diagnosis. 1 month later, at the ER, I was diagnosed with a stress fracture (2 breaks) of the foot!
During this time, my cholesterol and blood sugar reached abnormal levels. My requests for pharmaceutical medication was refused, instead keeping me on useless $75 bottles of "dietary supplements," which are the first item a patient views when entering the office. The reception staff (Cindy) can be either helpful, or cruel, and hang up.
2 months ago I suffered a UC flare up (severe rectal bleeding) The GI Doctor was unresponsive, forcing me to determine my treatment and medicate myself. Cindy arranged a second GI opinion with a "routine" referral, which would take another month to be seen. Cindy's response was to hang up on me when I requested an "urgent" referral, sparking Regal/Anthem to respond by forcing the Dr. to change the referral to "urgent." That night Dr. Ghiyam called, threatening to end our Dr. patient relationship if I ever complained to the insurance company again. He was not interested in hearing about how sick I was due to continuing blood loss, only to let me know how angry he was over today's complaint, defend Cindy's behavior, while continuing to ask if I wanted him to find me another primary care physician!
The next morning, at the ER, due to blood loss, the physician changed the referral to "expedite" and ensured I had a GI appointment the next day.

They don't make them like Dr. Ghiyam anymore. Passionate, caring and knowledgeable. We have been seeing him for 10 years. No complaints, just the best!

Our family has been seen by Dr. Ghiyam for over 15 years when he took over the practice and at first I was reticent about seeing him. He has proved his mettle with quality and nearly saved my daughter’s life as a result of his astute diagnosis for an appendix which was about to rupture. My daughter had emergency surgery as a result. On another occasion just prior to a major lay-off from my company he helped me out as I was out of work by providing many months of samples of the RX that I had been taking (about 4 different ones) demonstrating his compassion as a Dr. I have never been disappointed by this Dr. and we are a family of four that continue to trust his expertise.

I have been seeing him for a few months. I have to say I'm not impressed, and especially after reading his reviews. I had a reaction to a medication and had tests done. For 2 weeks the results have been in his office.. No word. When I would call I was told "He hasnt looked and signed off on it yet". Seriously!! Also he does like to reference to the pap alot. Now I hate the fact I had one there. And like someone said earlier .. He doesnt like your opinion or ideas when it comes to YOUR health. Its his way or he gets an attitude.

He pushes pills because it's what his little notepad says. He is tied directly into big pharma and their propaganda. It doesn't seem to matter that you do not want to take some of these chemicals or that you know about the side effects. If you refuse, he gets all tweaked out.

I was not impressed at all. I went to see him for a rash on my legs and he told me it was due to stress. I asked him if it was possible to develop an allergy and he said it was highly unlikely. After putting me on a steroid, the rash came back and I realized both times I had used a lotion on my legs...a lotion that I obviously developed an allergy to, because I had been using it for months before, I just don't use it everyday. He was very pompous and acted like my suggestions were ridiculous. He also let me know I could get my pelvic exam there, as someone else described on here previously.

Did NOT follow up on hospital visit, did not follow up on meds, pushes pills for everything and does not believe in anything unless it is something HE believes in only. Is not open to alternative ways. I will not use him again. I have researched all that is wrong as I can not get a decent answer out of him.
