I extremely agree with all of the excellent comments. There is no need to restate those again.

However, I am just very bothered with that young man's negative comments:
1)He admitted himself that he was too sick his mom had to bring him yet he complained that Dr.Carr talked to his mother. He contradicted himself. In addition, if a young person is too sick and might not be able to think properly, who knows the best beside themselves? Their mom.Anyone wants to contest this?
2)There is NO LAB. It is a doctor's office. Honestly, has anyone had blood taken at a doctor's office by the staff? Even IF there had beena lab in his building, it'd have been a different entity (Quest, etc). How could it have been his fault, anyway? I'd say a time-honored saying: honesty is the best policy.
3) Celiac disease IS easily detectable by a blood test. Even then greenest GI can't miss this. The probability of type 2 error of this test is almost nothing. A GI could send an order to any competent lab and tell on the result of Celiac test to the patient without the patient even see the GI (an extreme example, not a standard protocol)..

I'm not qualified to analyze his state of mind at that time, I am not a mental health professional. However, if a GI you like could "find" a disease that every GI worth their salt by a reliable bloodtest, don't slander, worst likely be dishonest, about a doctor, especially an exceptionally excellent one.

To add, if someone ever need to have a psychological (not psychiatric) assessment by a qualified professional, usually the first consult is free, anyone, under the assumption of no problems until become evident.

If I may add a personal free-speech opinion: Gracious goodness, Gen Y. You aren't invincibly always correct. The Gen Y's common trait to feel correct and dismiss a statement from a qualified capable person always scares the heck of me. The whole generation, the whole generation!

Dr.Carr is the best St.Jude doctor. All comments about genious,above-beyond,attentive-listen are all true. I still have unresolved problem but nobody else cant. He's 1st interview was 2hours!Find any doc does this.He called me once on a Sat at 9pm from his office. He visits his patients if hospitalized, not his job. He's also an open-minded wholistic doctor.Try herbs&accupuncture additional treatments didn't hurt.He highly respect Dr.Steven Tsai,MD who's also an A+ accupuncturist(a family friend is an A.I know a good one from hacks).I agree with all of the great reviews. For the disgruntled reviewer:see more MDs&compare. He's ultra-analytical looks always serious&not smiley. He's also realistic and as is.If one wants to be flattered by smilers, your local car salesmen thank your business.

It may take months to get in as a new patient, but you will be blessed. He is top in his field, yet humble. He knows both western, and alternative medicine and is not afraid to suggest what works. He does his homework on your history, you will not be rushed, yet he stays on time. You will receive exact documentation before you leave that rivals any hospital. The stall is excellent and the facilities impressive. If you find his picture, do not judge this book by it's cover, there is a rare caring highest level professional inside.

Not only did I work side by side with Dr. Martin Carr M.D. for nearly 14 years, he was also a physician to my husband. I do not believe the rating from the patient in 2007 which stated he got poor treatment. Dr Carr "is" the one physician who listens when no one else will, and does not "write you off " as stated. Dr Carr goes above and beyond for all of his patients. I have witnessed this thousands of times. This physician is a genius and puts other physicians to shame for their lack of knowledge in all areas of medicine, not just in gastroenterology. I would not go to Western Medical Center even if my life depended upon it. The person writing the bad comment clearly was disgruntled and in much need of psychiatric care.

Dr. Carr exemplifies what good healthcare can do. Since I began seeing Dr. Carr my health and attitude towards my life has completely changed for the better. If Dr. Carr is in a rush to get out the door, he shows no signs of it: he takes his time and does an extremely careful job of analyzing your whole health picture. If more physicians were like Dr. Carr hundreds more lives could be saved. Dr. Carr is a great example of what a role model Dr. should been and I applaud him and many other great physicians at St. Jude who have helped me over the years.

I see lots of doctors due to a chronic illness & I have to say Dr. Carr has got to be the BEST doctor I've seen in my entire life! Dr. Carr is like an old school doctor, one that REALLY CARES about you! So many doctors have their hand on the door knob ready to run, but NOT Dr. Carr. He sits down next to you & makes GREAT eye contact so that you know he IS really listening. He will answer all your questions/concerns in language you can understand. He is such a pleasant, kind & caring gentleman…yet soft spoken & professional. Its been a long time since I’ve ran into a doctor that "really" cares about how I’m feeling & what’s bothering me. I just can’t say enough good things about this doctor. He is truly one of a kind. I was waiting to be rushed in & out like ALL my other doctors do to me but that did not happen. He will follow up & call you at home when needed. He also offered to take care of all my other health needs. Dr. Carr is the BEST, we NEED more like him!!!

Dr. Carr is very unique in that he truly cares enough to spend time with his patients. Not only will he help you with your GI problems but he will take care of your whole help. When I first started seeing Dr. Carr in 2001 he kept in touch with me by phone to make sure that everything was okay. There are few doctors like Dr. Carr that truly care and they do not get compensanted for all the extra time they spend. Highly recommended.

I went to two GI's, one at UCLA, and a GI in the same building as Dr. Carr's office, both who dismissed my complaints. Then I saw Dr. Carr, who was able to diagnose me, and found out my problem, a GI nerve condition. He is very knowledgable, and really listens to you. He is also very concerned about getting you well. I highly recommend this GI.
