Dr Smith performed surgery on my toe last year. Two weeks ago I had a large bump on my toe. It turned into a staff infection. I felt something hard on my infection and I pulled out a surgical screw from one year ago. I had to have mri and then a rushed surgery to flush out infection and get rid of sutures and put in heavy antibiotic antibiotics. My toe is now in the same condition it was a year ago before my surgery a year ago. I was financially responsible for both surgeries and if I want to fix my toe I will have to under go another expensive surgery. Prisma Health would not help at all with expenses based on statements from my dr Jackson’s report!!
I only wanted expenses covered. I did not want a lawsuit!

Dr. Smith did a total ankle replacement for me in 2011 and it was a great success! Before I was in severe pain. Recovery went extremely well and I do everything and move easily with the replacement which I am usually unaware of. I highly recommend Dr. Smith. Thankful for him!!!

Don’t risk your health! Went in for one issue and poor care resulted in a second problem. Beware of him sending his nurse in while he’s at meetings! Asked him twice to call and still waiting! Too many more doctors out there that care about the individual patient.

I had a joint fusion in October 2016 and still had pain so Dr took hardware out in May of 2017 because he said it was fused. I still had pain and went for second option and found out foot was never fused. Just had surgery done again by a different doctor. Spent lots of time and money and did not have good results with him. I can not recommend him.

Misdiagnosed my ankle arthritis (inside ankle) as a bone spur on front of foot. Took out the bone spur which did nothing and nicked/cut a nerve which has resulted in permanent numbness in 75% of my foot. And not ONE phone call or email to ask me how I'm doing. I wouldn't recommend him for anything. Now I have to go to another doctor to fix the ankle and try to reverse the nerve damage.

I had ankle replacement surgery 2 years ago and have been well pleased with the results. I'm now up to walking 2 miles per day with only mild discomfort. My walking regime prior to the surgery had gone from 3 - 4 miles per day to 0 over a 4 year period. I had no problems with Dr. Smith or his staff. I found them very responsive to any concerns I had.

I wish I could be more specific about Dr. Smith. I waited over an hour for my appointment. I never even saw him and instead saw a nurse practitioner. Two weeks later the still have not sent my prescription over to the pharmacy.

Useless. Went around with a torn tendon after an ankle fracture for two years. Tried everything for what he misdiagnosed as tendonitis, spent $$$ and was still having daily chronic pain. Finally he told me he didn't know what else to do, didn't even suggest an MRI. Another ortho ordered an MRI and I have been walking around with a torn tendon that needs to be surgically repaired for two years. Was told that a reputable orthopedist should have ordered an MRI after the bone healed and the pain continued to the point of impairing my ability to walk. Staff can never find things in the chart. One issue after the next due to poor training yet their problems are blamed on the patient who is in pain and frustrated with poor quality care. Saddened, used to love Moore Ortho.
