Torn Rotator Cuff - had surgery in July 2019. I have no pain, no issues and I can play sports just as before.

I've seen him twice. Both times awful in regards of caring for my concerns and my increasingly worse pains over the course of 7+ years. I'm to the point of just taking hard pain medication because advils don't do it anymore.

The second visit was an absolute mess. Called me an hour before my appointment to tell me I can come in any time. Got there no one in sight, waited an hour on the bed (he was 30min late) just to say "what are you still doing here". I told him my pain is getting worse and it's not normal for my age. He lifted my arm a couple times not even noticing the clicking noise it does every time he moved it and said "you're ok, nothing we can do to help. Operating would make it worse." Then I asked about all my other bone pain across my body and he said "You weren't sent here for those, I can't help you with that".

His attitude is the worse I've ever seen, doesn't ask any question about why or where it's from nor checks why the continuation of the pain. Doesn't check anything except sending me to XRays over and over (6-7th time) with the same "I can't help nothing's wrong with you". No personality and doesn't care about the patient.

I'd have better service at McDonalds drive through then seeing him.

German W. Blando was the surgeon working in Emerg the day I broke my Tibia, Fibulas and Talus.

I waited 4 hours in Emerg before I saw a doctor. After the X-ray it was clear all three bones connecting my foot to my leg were fractured or broken and I would need an emergency surgery to put in plates and screws.

I first saw him that evening. He told me he would get to my surgery first thing in the morning. Afraid, & in pain, I spent the night in hospital. The next morning a nurse said “Your surgery will happen sometime today hopefully”. I waited all morning, all afternoon and most of the evening for him to come back around, for answers to when I would actually be getting the surgery.

By the 24-hour mark, I was in some real pain. Not only from the shattered ankle, but from the plastic splint that was put on the day before and never re-assessed or looked at again.

He finally came back around that evening. I asked him if it was common practice to leave a swelling ankle in the same splint without checking or loosening it after a while, & he told me that I wasn’t in any real pain. That the only pain I would feel was the ankle.

Concerned and not feeling heard I asked him to just have a look and see if everything was okay. I told him it wasn’t the ankle, that my skin felt like it was burning on the inside of my calf. His eyes rolled, he sighed & it became quite clear he was losing his patience.

So I asked him when I would be able to go in for surgery? & he told me that if I wanted his help at all, I would have to calm down and just be quiet. I just wanted answers... and relief from the pain after sitting with a broken ankle for a full day.

Upset, alone, with tears running down my face I begged him to look at my ankle again. He stood over me in my hospital bed, and RAISED HIS VOICE AT ME, and threatened to sedate me.. (A perfectly healthy 27 year old female, who was just afraid, with a broken ankle)... if I didn’t just be quiet.

Our interaction caused me to have an actual panic attack. He was insensitive, aggressive, & downright mean, while I was all alone, hurt, & scared in the hospital for the first surgery I had ever had.

I asked him not to speak to me in that way anymore, and told him I was already really afraid. That I understood he was busy, & that I wouldn’t ask questions unless I was genuinely concerned. I was by myself because of Covid-19 restrictions, & if I didn’t speak up and advocate for myself, nobody would have.

In the end, I wound up with a skin irritation and blisters up half of my leg from the splint that was left on too long. (I was right, the burning I felt was the plastic splint pulling apart my skin)...... & got yelled at by a grown man in a position where he could/should have comforted my fears and reassured me. This guy wouldn’t even do my surgery.... after I told him he needed work on his patient compassion & treat patients like the humans they are, he handed me off to a completely different surgeon.

The man has zero empathy or respect for his patients. He will not care about your concerns. He will be brief, he will rush, & if you question him, he will respond with a cold, superior tone that will make you feel like you have to submit or go without the care you need.

Two weeks later I got a bill in the mail for a “consult” with Dr. German W. Blondo.

Almost $200, to have a medical “professional” raise their voice at me, not answer my questions, patronize me, threaten me, & then refuse to care for me & hand my surgery off to somebody else entirely.

I had a better then I could ever expected result from my knee replacement surgery. I couldn’t ask for anything better. His staff is efficient & pleasant. I read the disparaging remarks here but I have no issues at all. My surgery was cancelled twice at last minute d/t unforeseen infections. But I was seen and treated ASAP. Directions were clearly explained. I recommend Dr. Brando for your knee surgery !

Recommande fortement!! Merci pour tout!!!!
