Dr. Cohen is a very nice person but I do have to agree with the previous poster that you can see her for years and she'll have no clue who you are or what your medical conditions consist of. She also is weird about her treatment. Sometimes you will go to see her and get a spiro every time, other times you won't get one for months - whether or not your breathing has been good or bad. If you're having a bad spell, she goes right to steroids, and doesn't change your maintenance. She told me that I was "maxed out" a hundred times when there are so many other typeds of maintenance drugs out there. I'm seeing a new pulmonogist because of insurance reasons and it will be interesting to see what they say.

She is not particularly thorough and treats you as if it is always the first time she is meeting you. Even though I had been her patient for a few years, she didn't know me. She was unaware of referrals I had asked for -- which seems to me that she doesn't really know all the details of who else you are seeing and why. This proved true because she didn't know basic information about my health. The last time she saw me, after I had a traumatic event (which she knew about), she was not particularly kind -- actually, she suggested that I find a new doctor. As for the staff, most of them like to call patients "hon." Every time that I been there, they are talking the local restaurants about ordering out.
