I would recommend Dr. Lieberman and his team for surgery. My wife and I were met with a friendly and supportive staff, actually the best we have encountered! Dr. Lieberman explained everything to expect and we had all the information we wanted even a month afterward. The facility was spotless and very attractive. I would feel comfortable returning anytime.

State of art knowledge regarding most advanced procedures. Way beyond numerous other specialists consulted in terms of diagnosis. Would absolutely recommend Dr. Lieberman for at least consultation before you proceed with anyone else.

I was given all the information concerning my procedure and all questions were answered. The results were amazing and I am thankful to Dr Lieberman and his entire team. My wife is very apprehensive about back surgery but after seeing my results she has made an appointment with Phoenix Spine Center!

My story if nearly identical to the post from 11-29-14. I found Dr. Lieberman to be gentle, kind and very approachable yet there never was a mention of a failed fusion - not at 6 months post op, not at a year, not at 3 years, not even at 6 years. Obviously, this kind of procedure is not guaranteed, I realize that but there needs to be some honest dialog. I endured several unneeded CTs over the last few years only to be told each time that everything looked fine despite my ongoing pain. Dr. L recommended rhizotomy and I almost fell for it. Fortunately, I got other opinions from BNI and elsewhere and they told me that my fusion failed and the likelihood of it resolving itself at this point is not likely. Clipping a nerve may sound appealing but I'd rather have the initial problem fixed instead. "Ultra Minimally Invasive" is not always the right approach if the joint is not immobilized. If it works, then great, you've endured less pain. If it doesn't work, then a second procedure involves more pain and double the expense.

Dr. Daniel M. Lieberman's response
After reading the comments left we would like to extend our apology for the pain that is being experienced. At this time good doctors disagree on the best way to approach some cases of back pain. At Phoenix Spine we are committed to the least invasive means possible. Some people prefer a more traditional approach. We send our warmest wishes and highest hopes for a quick recovery. We would like to stay in touch regarding progress so please feel free to reach out to us at any time.

I had a DVR (direct visual rhizotomy) procedure. Dr. Lieberman's careful examination enabled an exact diagnosis. Dr. Lieberman explained what was causing my leg and back pain. Both Dr. Lieberman and the videos on the web site helped explain exactly what the procedure would entail to resolve the pain. Dr. Lieberman wanted to proceed with the least invasive path forward first to see if that would eliminate my pain. If that did not completely resolve the pain, we would try something more invasive. .

My mom has surgery 2005. He tipped the rods to help her stand strighter, it did not help. All that has happened is the rod pokes out , and now it is causing so much pain. He does not take Medicare anymore so I have to take her to someone else to get it taken out. I have been tring for two days to get information about what type and brand of material was used so it can be taken out with the correct material. I have had to call daily and no one calls me back... I do not think he is a good doctor, he should get this information to me to help her. He caused the problem because of how he put them in.

Arrived early, waited 90 minutes, mentioned our disappointment, were sent away without being seen. Staff overbearing, dismissive, apathetic. Thanks for the warning. Bad rep, too.

It has been 2 months since my surgery. No one has called me. I called the office multiple times and they never return the call. The Dr. was very good and had good bedside manners. He should improve his staff and ensure that they follow thru with patients. Since they do not do the operating, I did not care. I just called in today..they say they will call me back. We will see.

Incredible surgeon. He really listened to me and adressed every concern. I am glad he is very conservative in his field. Other drs. would have loved to rush me to the OR. I am a returning patient unfortunatley under my circumstance. I would never trust any other surgeon with my spine care. He is unbelievably kind.
