Dr. Zebrun is an amazing psychiatrist. He treats the patient as an intelligent, thinking being who can participate in their own treatment plan. He spends more time with you than most psychiatrists do and it is not a superficial/cursory assessment, but an in-depth one. He is very knowledgeable and stays up-to-date with current research. He is not only open to using alternative therapies if the patient is interested, but is also knowledgeable about them. What I like best about him besides his deep interest in and respect for his patients, is his common sense and sense of humor. I feel like I have finally found a psychiatrist who will let me partner with him in my own care.

It is true. Dr. John M Zebrun will terminate you at any reason he chooses immediatley. That's not the problem though. He will be treating you with medicines well-known to cause withdrawal reactions such as seizures or death (benzodiazepines) without even weaning you off. Whatever the reason, when I had been treated for 2 years on a benzodiazepine and he, for his personal reasons, let me go as a patient, he did not taper me down. I suffered numerous seizures for several months because of this lack of weaning me off the medicine he originally prescribed me. He's real good with kids? He knew that I had had seizures when I was younger so when I was anxious and depressed and needed help and he took me on, he knew the risks! He's an M.D.! I used to be an addict YEARS ago and when I mentioned it, I got the boot and had seven hospital visits. Thank God i found a new psychiatrist who, regardless of my history, knew that people need help. He has a nice smile.....

This doctor terminates teenage patients by leaving voice mail on teens cell phones. Very unsatisfactory, even unethical. He did this to my daughter and one other teen I know

Intelligent and sharp, willing to listen to all concerns, especially regarding medications. Willing to try alternative therapies as well as traditional. Seems invested in the patient's well being and outcome.

Dr. Zebrun is a very knowledgeable and thorough doc. He is very smart and up to date with the latest research. He has been both mine and my son's doc at points. He is also a very good child psychiatrist. I would recommend him to anyone.
