We went with Dr. England for our 1st pregnancy as he's based in St.Vincent's Private and offered a shared care which is convenient and mote economical for us. On the 22wks scan, it was detected that my cervix was borderline short. Dr. England contacted me right away that night as soon as he received the news from the sonographer and explained the issue and what the treatment plan is. Early morning of the following day, his team immediately organised the script straight to the pharmacy so thay I can start treatmend right away. The rest of my pregnancy went smoothly and had my baby boy on the weekend of 39wks when Dr. England was unfortunately not the doctor on call. So I has somebody else delivered my son. However, Dr. England checked up on me everyday following that weekend until I got discharged. His care team also followed up on me closely in the first few wks post-partum as I was really anxious about breastfeeding and my milk supply. Overall, we are really happy with the support and care received from Dr. England and his team. We felt safe and well looked after.

As soon as Dr. England found out I was a nurse the conversation went downhill. I discussed my painful heavy periods, painful sex, concerns regarding a recent burst cyst. He told me something along the lines of all periods are painful and it felt like my concerns where dismissed. Went to another provider who did further tests, turns out I have endometriosis and adenomysis.

Its been over a year. But my one consult was the worst Ive had in my life. I went in with concerns about an ovarian cyst, pain from my IUD, painful periods, painful sex and wanted to discuss starting a family. This Dr saw I was in the health field, stated that people of my profession where know for "self diagnosing" than proceeded to ask me what my husband thought of me wanting to remove my IUD. That got followed by a discussion of how my husband and I were too young to start a family (27 years old for context). I insisted I wanted the IUD removed and he asked to do an exam. While I was in the stir-ups I was about to ask to have some form of numbing or put out to have the IUD removed cause I had been in pain for weeks. He asked if I was sure my husband would be okay with my IUD being removed. When I said yes, he removed it. I asked for pain relief and got nothing. Alot of pain, no answered questions, and let feeling like a scolded child.

Fantastic obsetrician, type 1 diabetic which is fairly well controlled but still high risk, very knowledgeable, polite and informative. Only reason we went with another ob for second us we were buying a house and we liked other ob just as much but was cheaper. He also has a very strong reputation in the medical field.

Peter is everything you want in a doctor for a first time pregnancy, calm, kind, reassuring and extremely thorough. I had an issue free pregnancy but went into labour at just under 35 weeks. Peter and the teams quick action kept Alec in utereo for two more days and allowed his lungs to further develop through a steroids injection. The team are wonderful and very kind and knowledgeable with the post natal care. I cannot rate or thank them enough.

I was looking at this site for something else and I was reminded of my experience with Peter England. This is a really late rating as my children are now 11 and 12 but you don't ever forget the kindness offered to you in exceptional circumstances. I read the other reviews and I thought it was funny that people thought he had no people skills, I guess I can see why as he is not overly gushy, but then again, that's not the skill I am after when I want a safe delivery, he is however genuine and very considerate. My second child was born the night before my mother died, she was gravely ill with a brain tumour and it was an extremely difficult and emotional time. I had a toddler, was 39 weeks pregnant and my mother was about to die. Peter and his team were simply amazing. No fuss, they quietly got on with everything in the background and were very reassuring. My daughter was born and within 2 hours I was with my mother and she got to meet her before she died. I am a nurse and I know the health system well. All of that is not possible without someone working "on your side". If you want to be the centre of attention and be fussed over as the only person who has ever delivered a baby, maybe you do need someone else, but if you want someone who appears to be able to rise to any genuine occasion, is safe and genuinely has the interests of your child at the forefront, then I still to this day recommend him.
