Psychiatrists sometimes take it on the chin. I can tell you with unequivocal certitude, that Dr. Berkowitz is just great. I am 59 years old. Dr. Berkowitz treated me nearly 50 years ago in Pittsburgh. He gave me the tools I needed to find my way through a dysfunctional childhood. He was the first positive male role model I knew. At the time, I guessed that there were other positive male role models out there, and I lucked out and found them. Due in no small part to Dr. Berkowitz's early intervention, I DID find my way and became successful. Though my stars aligned a little later on, it was Dr. Berkowitz who taught me how to believe in myself. Because of him, I somehow became a whole person, and ended up leading a life that had meaning and purpose. I still have problems. It's just that the dysfunction I knew in childhood did not root and breed, because of Dr. Berkowitz. I owe this guy a lot. Hats off!
