Dr. Goebel has been my doctor for 20 years and I believe he is superb. He takes time to listen and to explain. I am thankful for him.

I have been seeing psychiatrists since... Let's just say I've seen a lot. Dr Goebbels met with me for 15 minutes, decided I was Bipolar (despite having never been diagnosed Bipolar ever by the 15 years or so of docs before that and his not performing an actual psych evaluation). Still, I took the meds he gave me and when I came back for my 5 min medcheck, I was crying uncrontrollably due to the Bipolar meds (Lamictal i think?). I was about 18 years old at the time, my fiancé had recently passed from cancer, and a good friend had committed suicide - all in the past couple months. I was a mess as it was. However he got in my face and YELLED at me: "you can spend yr five minutes sniveling and boohooing or you can shut up and say something productive." This made me cry harder. "No? We're just going to waste our time?" and in and on. Obviously I never saw him again and every time i think of him, I can't help but think if only i was a twin maybe I would've gotten a 15 min medcheck lol sorry that's awful. seriously though if you're not in the marines, stay away

Today, March 27th, 2014, I had the unfortunate experience of meeting with Dr. Goebel. I experienced him as being very cold, lacking empathy or compassion of any sort. He was very accusatory- and his accusations were unfounded and illogical. I was so disappointed because I was looking forward to seeing him with the hope of getting help but walked out feeling much worse for having wasted my time with this man. It was one of the most disturbing encounters in my 60 years of life!

I was very glad to be referred to Dr. Goebel, and he has provided a most thorough review of my case. I have had a variety of diagnoses through the years, including major depressive disorder, bi-polar II, ADHD, and PTSD. Dr. Goebel has been the most thorough of all the doctors I have seen, going through my history of symptoms and treatments very carefully. I am now on the best treatment path I have experienced in my 54 years, and I am very grateful to Dr. Goebel.

I have found Dr. Goeble to be very effective, extremely gifted in handling medications and does hear every word I say. His questions are always right on. He is very committed to his patients for their good and works very late to accommodate their needs ie call backs. I travel quite a distance for his expertise.

Dr. Goebel was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding my severe panic attacks and depression. He found the right medication and the right amount within a few months of my first visit. The only small complaint I could make is that it didn't seem like he was listening sometimes - though he could repeat what I said the next season without even thinking about it.

I was in a very bad place when I saw Dr. Goebel. Unfortunately, he didn't make it any better. I was terribly depressed and my OCD was out of control, but he didn't try to change any of my medications or make any other changes, either. One afternoon I called and left him a message, stating that it was an emergency and I thought I might kill myself. (I have never been so low.) He didn't return my phone call until 11:30 p.m., by which time it would have been too late if my father hadn't talked me through it, over the phone from Texas. When you're that depressed, you don't even realize how bad things are until it's over. I'm so glad that I moved, because my new doctor turned my world around with a few simple medication changes. Otherwise I might have gone on being miserable. Dr. Goebel is too happy with the status quo to be effective as a psychiatrist.
