Just want to put in a good word for Dr. Hollis that has now passed away. When RK surgery was the type you had to correct vision, a friend of mine that also was legally blind had had her eyes corrected and had 20/20 vision. This was also a guarantee at that time. I called, they sent me a tape to watch, and it was very thorough. Dr. Hollis was one of the pioneers of RK Surgery. I had my surgery in 1990 . He told me I was so bad it would take the first surgery and probably 2 enhancements, a month apart. He was right. Was 20/80 after first surgery. 20/50 after second and 20/20 after the last. Severe astigmatism was also 100% gone. So I had 2 vision problems distorting my vision. He had done over 10K eyes experimentally before this. That was his specialty. I never heard of a single complaint, in fact, I had never known what it was to see, and he changed my world at 38 years old. I'm almost 71 now and there has been some change as he told me there would be, it happens to everybody as you get older, but I'm still in such better condition to see than the first 38 years of my life when I could see almost nothing. I think most of the people complaining here had the lasik surgery and that was a switch for Dr. Hollis. Then he got cancer, but seems he continued to work as long as possible. It's unfortunate that some people were unhappy with their lasik results but you won't find anybody disappointed with his RK results because they were 100% perfect. I'll be forever thankful for what he did for me and was so sorry to hear he passed.
