Rudest Dr I've ever been to. He was very nice and seemed to care at first. He was adamant that I quit smoking. When I finally did, I gained weight. Then, he complained about my weight gain. I went to him for 6 years. The last time I had an injection, I asked for sedation. He didn't tell me until after the injection that Medicare didn't cover it anymore. I called Medicare and they told me that they most certainly do pay for sedation. I told him I had called on my next visit and his response was, "Are you calling my secretary a liar?" I said no. On my next visit, he stated, "Did you know that I was ready to drop you as a patient on your last visit because you said Medicare would pay for sedation?" On my very last visit, his nurse told me that they couldn't do injections with sedation any longer because they had to have another Dr or certified nurse in order to give sedation. I have no idea why he didn't tell me that to begin with. But on my last visit, he told me he was no longer accepting Medicare patients and I would have to be a self pay. I called this month, October 2019, and was told they were referring all Medicare patients to their Primary Care Providers. I would not recommend him to anyone and I plan to call the American Medical Association to report his behavior and attitude.

I saw the dr on 12 Sept 14. After 30 years in the military I was medically discharged. His staff IS rude because he is rude. When I was explaining how Express-Scripts works to the desk paperwork person he doctor over heard the conversation and relayed to the nurse I could get out of his office if I did not like the way it is run. What a great welcome. I brought the cd's of MRI's from past bone fusions and my chronic pain in my lower back. I wanted to be pro-active and brought along a 4 page print of all the meds I had tried. He took offense that I brought the list. Went on to brag about himself all the while putting me down. The kicker to this office visit was he never asked which meds worked and which ones did not. A high school dropout would have the common sense to get patient feed back. He whispers to the nurse what to write. The patient has no idea what medicine they are getting until they check out. I my case over have the dose of what I was on the month before. He is from Nigeria. Rather than go back to help his fellow countrymen he stayed in the US. Probably pays better. Almost always a health care person will say thank you for your service to the country when I tell them I've done 6 combat rotations. Not this guy. On checkout I was given same stuff I tried 2 month ago without good results. I asked the nurse to see if he would change it. No way. I asked about a follow up. Answer was no, go back to your PCP. In summary this was by far the worst doctor visit I've ever had. The doctor and crew are non-professional, rude, with no interaction with the patient. If you are a combat veteran, steer clean of this clown show. I will leave my name and phone #. If you need another reason not to waste time and money on this clown show. Dr. Akande was not what he made his self out to be at my first visit. I was under the impression that he was going to be informative and encouraging. How I was wrong. He was not only rude my last four visits(I only saw him a total of 5 times). He not only asked my inapproiate questions, he also made suggestions that were unrelated to my treatment. I would not recommend him to anyone. I am so appalled that a Doctors beside manner would be so terrible that I have made a complaint against him with the BBB and the North Carolina Medical Board.

1st visit with this Dr. was very disapointing, he assumed things without any results in front of him, I feel he judged me about losing weight , when every1 is different, not every1 is supposed to be skinny , this man is kinda hurtful, not caring about peoples feelings, if he was concerned about weight loss , he should have chosen to work for Jenny Craig.Just a very rude person, but maybe when results are in from tests he will stop judging and give me the care I need !!!!
