Dr Melgar delivered all 3 of my children was absolutely professional and helpful in every way possible.

A beautiful human being and an excellent pro-active professional. She has always been there for me.I wouldn't go to any other doctor. I don't know the exact situation of the negative reviews here, but I assure you, Dr Melgar is one of the best in her field.

She was the most wonderful doctor I ever had! I have since moved out of state, otherwise I would be still going there. I had 2 miscarriages due to what I found out was a septate uterus. She held my hand, cried with me, hugged me. I had surgery to correct it, after my 3rd pregnancy, I started to have problems , she had me come in every week for a sonogram, up until 12 weeks , and said she was praying for me and the baby. I ended up having a normal pregnancy and have a beautiful 10 year old daughter now. She gave me so much attention and was always available by phone or called me right back. I don't know what everyone else on this site was talking about. She went above and beyond her job and is a sweet and caring person, I thank God she was there for me!

Doctor Melgar has delivered 2 of my 3 children ( her partner delivered the other one). She was amazing. One of my children had a congenital defect which showed up on an early sonogram and doctor Melgar made calls to several different specialists to find the best doctors for me and my baby. I was very nervous and she spent a lot of time explaining to me what was going on and what we were going to do to make sure everything was going to be alright. My daughter is a happy and healthy 5 year old today. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

Initially I liked her but when I had a problem she couldn't figure out what it was exactly and just kept prescribing different creams. Considering she is a woman, she also does not show too much compassion for one who is experiencing pre-menopausal symptoms. She is a little cold and actually hurt me when she performed an internal exam and when I squirmed and said "ouch, that hurt" she didn't even apologize or anything! I changed to another dr. quickly after that!

Doctor Melgar is not in my insurance plan but I would never go anywhere else. I have been to other doctors, but have never found one that compares to her. She's honest, knowledgeable, and caring. She spoke to me about HPV and started screening for it 10 years ago before anyone knew what it was, now its all you hear about. I like the fact that she's ahead of the curve, but at the same time she's not an alarmist like some other doctors. Like I said, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

For regular gyn and getting birth control pills, she was fine - I had no problems and was happy to use her for my pregnancey. I switched from Dr. Melgar's practice at 6 months because when I actually had questioned and wanted answers - she was really unhelpful and dismissive of my concerns. She did not ask questions that one would have expected after I gave an initial description of my symptoms. Luckily I had gone on line and read much about it but she clearly had zero interest in educating me. It was a difficult decision to switch Doctors late in the pregnancy (and many won't take you) but I am glad I did.

Dr. Melgar was initially very nice, but once she informed me that I had an STD and she proved very unhelpful to me. Good at small talk, but not so good with genuine compassion or concern. I feel she is somewhat cold and will be switching to a new obgyn.
