Dr Safie is a horrible doctor who shouldn’t practice medicine. I brought my college student daughter there for a check up because we noticed she had gained weight while away at college (wasn’t sure if it could be attributed to the freshman 15) but as parents know, I had to be sensitive about the subject, & took her to Dr Safie. She missed my college student daughter’s 27lb abdominal ovarian tumor!! A few weeks after the appointment she was rushed to the hospital with excruciating pain. THANK GOD for the doctors at UCSD who saved her life! The timor was turning malignant! We have called the office & left many messages for her to discuss what happened & she has NEVER returned any of our calls. Beware!

I had a swollen lump form under my pregnant belly and she refused to even touch it or look at it. I paid a hospital copay for nothing and I had to go to another doctor to get it diagnosed. Then I was unfortunate to have her deliver me. She was in the hospital building already, she knew my epidural didn't work and I was in pain, but she took 20 minutes to come to deliver and casually walked in and made a joke as I was begging and crying for help. I don't ever want to see her again. She didn't care about me at all.

Horrible Doctor! Chose someone else if you want someone who returns calls, or for that matter...someone who cares!!!

Dr. Safie was wonderful. Her staff was polite and actually listened. I had a very short wait in the lobby and an even shorter wait in the room. Dr. Safie was very knowledgeable and friendly. She immediately put me at ease that my regular physician had misread my prior pap results. Evernything about my appointment was easy and reassuring. I won't be going anywhere else.

I met Safi on a emergency basis when my water broke at 18 weeks...she herself was wonderful in the hospital and I only ran into issues when the Mortuary I used to have my baby cremated could NEVER get an answer or call back from her office! what the hell??! this is a a most difficult time for my family and I and to have to wait so long to have a simple phone call returned and letter faxed is UNACCEPTABLE. the doctor may be fantastic but the staff is ALWAYS the first impression and really makes the practice's rep. so disappointing.

I saw Safie for my first pregnancy. She came highly recommended by a friend. She seemed nice at first. For the most part, she was pleasant for all visits except when I wanted to talk about my birth plan. She doesn't really agree with the Bradley Method. She was 20+ minutes late every appt I had with her, and that was in addition to waiting 30+ minutes in the waiting room. I felt like I was rushed each visit. She would answer all of my questions, but some literally as she was walking out the door going to the next patients room. Sure didn't make me feel important. :( She was not there for my delivery, even though she was on call then left to go to Vegas, per the hospital staff. I was bummed. I called her nurse because I had mastitis, didn't know it at the time, and her or the nurse wouldn't return my calls! What! I'm in pain and no one will talk to me?! When Safie called I told her my symptoms and she replied with "What do you expect me to do about it?" I hung up. Do not recommend.

I am 36 weeks pregnant and have had Dr. Safie for most of this pregnancy. I had a rough start in the pregnancy and she was very helpful. She takes her time and listens carefully. Also, she errs on the side of safety and I really appreciate her. So far so good with Dr. Safie. I highly recommend her.
