Out of curiosity I decided to do an online search for Dr. Ray's satisfaction rating and am not surprised it's low. I also noticed a marked difference in her interaction with me (I'm white) compared to people of color. It's nice to know I didn't imagine that, judging by what other people have posted here, but it's disappointing too because she's supposed to be a professional. There's no room for stupidity and pettiness like that. As for my health problems, Dr. Ray was unsympathetic but I thought it was just detatchment in order to stay objective. At worst I thought she really didn't have a personality. I've found out otherwise. She prescribed me a drug I told her makes me sick and that information is in my records if she'd bothered to look. Naturally I didn't have it filled, and Dr. Ray blatantly refused to prescribe a substitute, knowing full well the consequence--pain all day, EVERY day. At my last (and FINAL) appointment a week ago when I tried talking to her about it, she put on an attitude. I stayed polite--it was really hard--while she became mouthy and flat out berated me. She's supposed to be a HEALER. I have no idea what's going on in her mind but compassion, empathy, concern--they're MISSING. I didn't go there to be insulted and talked to like I'm a piece of trash. I went for HELP. Two appointments with this lame excuse for a doctor and I'm DONE. I feel sorry for the rest of her patients because it's more than obvious that she couldn't care less! As for the staff, I gave them a low rating because of the receptionist. I don't know her name but she sits behind the counter on the right side where patients sign in. There's a picture of her with a man I assume is her husband on the shelf next to the counter. She is smiling in the picture, which proves she's able to smile, but toward white people, no way. This woman has a serious attitude problem. It's not so simple as an unfriendly attitude. It's "I'm better than you are" or "You're trash" and based, sickeningly, in prejudice. Some friends and I came to that conclusion--they being patients at CHIC as well and having the displeasure of dealing with her as well. Whenever I've tried talking to her, her top lip starts to curl in almost a sneer. This arrogant and sanctimonious idiot has behaved the same way with my friends, even one who complimented her as a test to see if she could actually be polite. And yes, her treatment of people of color has been, on numerous occasions, NOTICEABLY friendlier. That aside, for everyone looking for a doctor, look past Dana Ray. I've learned she DOES NOT have hospital privileges--meaning if a patient of Dr. Ray's is admitted to the hospital, she is NOT allowed ANY involvement in that patient's treatment. She cannot even advise the attending hospital physicians! WHAT, I wonder, is the reason for that? What has she DONE to be denied involvement should a patient of hers require hospitalization? Take my advice and AVOID DR. RAY!! And the stupid racist receptionist can stick her high-and-mighty attitude up her a*s. I'll NEVER go back to CHIC!
