Just had Rotator cuff repaired at Specialists for Orthopedic Surgeries in Encino on Ventura Blvd. You do not want to go there. They gave me medication I was allergic to and I left there without any of my precriptions and blood dripping all over my clothes, son's car, at home on my pillow. Dr. Fields's office, Barbara ordered me an iceless ice machine that he told my son not to use until the bandages came off, because it would make it bleed more. Doesn't matter anyway because that didn't work either LOL The Anesthesialogist ripped up my nose and throat. My rotator cuff arm didn't hurt at all but I was coughing up blood from my throat and my nose killed not only that, he couldn't find my vein.He came at me with a horse needle. And jabbed me too many times.I was screaming in pain. All that digging around. He did give me a nerve block on my shoulder and it still doesn't hurt at all. But my throat kills I can't swallow and can't talk. I couldn't go to a big premiere tonight. I had to cancel at the last minute and Danny Biederman was calling my doctor, Dr Robert Fields, who is a great technician but has a really horrible bedside manner and his jokes really suck. Danny was calling Fields for me on his way into the premiere at my favorite directors theatre. Quentin Tarantino's.The man!! Cant reach my doctor at all. Dr. Robert Fields and have decided to go anywhere else to get my stitches removed.

Dr Fields performed arthroscopic surgery on my knee to repair the meniscus. I was back to work in a few days and could do all regular activities in about 4 weeks. He called after surgery to see how I was doing. I did wait to see him, but he gave me the time I needed to answer all of my questions. My surgery was scheduled promptly and the staff at his office were friendly and efficient. He has a busy office but everyone seems to care about the patients. I would definately go back if I need any further care.

No help whatsoever, billed me anyway. Went in with tendinitis in my elbow, left with same - because after waiting over two hours for a scheduled appointment, Dr. Fields flat-out refused to treat the injury. Instead, he arrogantly told me to take more Advil for a month and then he'd think about the cortisone injection that I knew would fix it. Meanwhile, I had difficulty working, truncated exercise and sleep, and finally went to another doctor who fixed it in 48 hours. Then the bill arrived for over $300 for the office visit at which nothing whatsoever was accomplished. If you're looking for arrogant, unresponsive, condescending ass-covering instead of actual treatment -- followed up by sleazy, insulting, self-righteous billing practices -- then Dr. Fields is your man. Otherwise, avoid him like the plague. And I wasn't the only one who was near open revolt for the long wait times for their appointments. This practice would be a joke, if it weren't so abusive.

Dr. Fields had little bedside manner. Concerned that he is bored and disinterested and this will affect my care.

Had arthroscopic on my knee done by this doctor. After never recovering, I sought second opinion and was told that I should NEVER have had this procedure because of the arthritic condition of my knee. I was told it only made my condition worse. Plus Fields is not a very friendly guy.

dr. fields is not bad, just not great either. however, he was very forthcoming with admitting that my problem would not be solved by surgery...something most docs would never admit (anything to make $$$). he may be right for someone else...just not for me.
