Took several weeks to see. She was rude when I said I was experiencing pain. She missed diagnosing Lichen Sclerosus.

Dr. Gavrila, and her nurse Julie Arreguin, took charge of my medical case when no one else would. I am a patient of a gp in Eastside Community Clinic and I needed surgery for abdominal hernias as well as a consult in regard to gastro issues. This is something which doesn't necessarily relate to Dr. Gavrila's practice, but they realized the clinic staff wouldn't have time to so in order get me to this surgeon. Dr. G's staff called all my previous doctors, had them fax my records in, and then took the time to make sure I got my appt. with a surgeon. I cannot imagine any other doctor doing this for a patient. I am completely in debt to Dr. Gavrila and Julie.

Dr. Gavrila misdiagnosed a symptom rather than the cause that eventually left my sister with brain damage due to malnutrition. She didn't follow up when symptoms got worse by doing a colonoscopy. She did nothing for 7 weeks and numerous ER visits. I had to order the colonoscopy as my sister was fading in criical care. That's when she found a partial blockage of the small intestine. A good doctor would have done this simple procedure. My sister would be healthy today instead of permanently disabled.

This doctor was quite nice when I was in her office. However, it is very difficult to get past her medical assistant who answers the phone to bring something to the doctor's attention. That person can be very rude. Instead of making an earlier appointment than I had scheduled or talking to the doctor about my complaint of severe pain, the assistant told me I could go to the emergency room if I wanted, but there was nothing else she could do for me. I have stopped seeing this doctor because this situation makes her very inaccessible. Why have a doctor if you can't see or talk to her when you're in pain?!!

My 2nd endoscopy was done by her. You get a sore throat afterwards from the procedure. Well my continued for 2 weeks! The day after, I talked to the nurse and mentioned that my throat was quite painful. For which I got no type of good reply. I was hoping for something like 'Come on in and let us look at it'. Anyways I am pretty sure that she damaged my uvula (the thingy that hangs down in your mouth). I had a follow up appointment for which I canceled because I lost track of time. So the nurse then told me that the doctor would call me back in the next hour. No call. It is now one week later and the 'doctor' calls only to tell me she will be on vacation until Tuesday so I can call back then if I need to talk to her. My first endoscopy I had I didn't take any drugs to knock me out. This one they wouldn't even give me a choice, regardless of my countless efforts to tell them I've had this done before without medication. I had a bad experience with this doctor. She sucks.
