I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Gertzman for annual health check as new patient, but I was asked lots of background questions during the visit, not the actual physical checkup. Dr. Gertzman told me the come back for another appointment on physical checkup. But my insurance only pays one free annual physical checkup. This meant I have to pay for the additional appointment. I didn't why I have to make two trips on something can be done in one, and I wasn't told I had to go back when I booked the appointment. I was disappointed on this.

Dr. Gertzman is very kind and compassionate. I am Type 1 diabetic and also have depression and chronic pain. He is very helpful and willing to work with my team of doctors. He takes my concerns seriously whether medical or financial. I appreciate my Doctors that help me manage my diabetes even with insurance constraints. His staff is professional and were very willing to get through the insurance mire!

Dr. Gertzman is always available for answering my inquiries even after hours. He has insisted on steps to improve my health condition such as weight loss and exercise. He has managed my meds through conversions from named drugs to generics which had a lesser effect on by BP.

I suffer from SEVERE CHRONIC PAIN, and DEPRESSION. He obviously understands nothing, or at best very little about what happens to a patient who is in my shoes. He crumbled up a piece of paper and got obviously ticked off at me when I changed my mind about a question he had asked me. EXCUSE ME, Dr...., If you knew anything about people that suffer as badly as I do, you would understand that between pain, depression caused by pain, lack of sleep due to pain, confusion, etc., I have a lot on my plate!! To show a patient who is having a tough enough time just getting through daily life, that you have absolutely no patience and understnding towards them, is the worst thing a doctor can do to someone like me. Some days I don't even want to live. And all he did was get upset. It was about HIM and his agenda. He obviously doesn't care enough to know about patients with real chronic, life altering problems. When I first met him, he was very nice,& he seemed to care. What happened? I dont know!!

Dr. Gertzman is a throw back to the old family doctor, because he listens, asks the correct questions and treats his patients with respect. He is also knowledgeable about new treatments and medicines. He knows when it is appropriate to send you to a specialist. He cares about his patients and it shows.

Fantastic doctor. He really listens to his patients. He is willing to send you to another specialist, if he believes that they will be more able to help you! Great doctor & even greater human being.

I have found him sympathetic, caring, and an excellent diagnostician. He refers to specialists when appropriate and treats himself when not. He is up to date on the latest protocols.

If you want to wait while he talks to drug company reps this is the doc for you. I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time while he chatted with pharm reps. Then he prescribed Celebrex to me for back pain and sent me to a specialist. He sends you to specialists because it's a no brainer for him. I won't be back.
