Our adult son, with no insurance due to known Crohn's and ineligible for our insurance made apptmt as self-pay & informed Staff. Dr. Ringel Did NO physical exam & excused him after 10 minutes. Refused to order a Colonoscopy to verify location of Crohn's or other issues. Then insisted he/we pay full price. AGAIN, no physical exam and no Rx and no referral for a Colonoscopy (main thing which we requested). Our son is now under treatment in Orlando, Fl with the highly regarded GI Center for Digestive Health. They performed his colonoscopy for a self-pay rate 1/8 the cost of hospitals and are treating him monthly at self-pay rates. His Crohn's WAS quite active although he received no help from Dr.Ringel here in Ft.Walton. Dr. Ringel simply said: you should go to the ER at Sacred Heart.(which my son did, but after 1 day of standard blood tests, etc they found "no crohn's"(Since it must be determined by colonoscopy when in the Ileum). Thus no treatment.

Excellant Doctor - I was having pain in my stomach and he quickly ordered both a endoscopy and colonoscopy. He found and removed a polyp from my colon. Quickly had it tested and gave me the results. He provided follow up and has always been honest with me. He always returns calls.

Dr. Ringel has always been very cordial and efficient. Dr. Ringel's great knowledge helped locate and fix my inflammed intestine. His staff has always been helpful and curtious.

PA in his office had emotional melt-down within 2 minutes of entering my exam room. She ran out of office saying she couldn't take it anymore. Office staff very rudely told me to leave and they would refund my co-pay. Dr. Ringel was not in the office to consult with. When he phoned to say I was owed an apology, he had a nervous, and annoying, nervous laugh. Doctor and office staff lacks maturity.
