About Chiropractors

Find a Doctor

Chiropractors use non-invasive therapy and treatment to relieve pain as a result of injury and illness.  They employ alternative treatment methods such as spinal manipulation/adjustment and massage techniques to prevent and to correct both current and future problems. Other areas of health care that can be covered by a Chiropractor include physical rehabilitation, exercise as well as nutrition and diet recommendations.

While chiropractors do not use surgery or medication in their practice and treatment, they can often provide care to patients post-surgery. Chiropractors are able to provide treatment for conditions as a result of repetitive strain, tension, and stress that are imposed on the joints and musculoskeletal system such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, and tendonitis.

Chiropractors complete full assessments of symptoms, analysis of health history, and comprehensive physical exams that include evaluation of the muscles, joints, and posture. They also perform tests to determine diagnosis and treatment.

Along with treating back pain and headaches, Chiropractors also provide treatment for conditions including herniated disk, nerve entrapments, migraines, muscle strain, ligament tears, shin splints, sciatica, bursitis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease (DJD.)

Techniques that Chiropractors use can include spinal manipulation/joint adjustments, soft tissue treatment, deep tissue massage, acupuncture, and orthotics, all focusing on the alignment of the musculoskeletal system, and its comprising muscles, joints, bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons.
