I was so happy to have had her for my doctor until her practice was gone but she was such a wonderful person. She took the time to care for me and my mom when my other doctor moved away. I just loved her and her caring ways of helping people. I will never forget her 😢💔

I was speaking with my friends tonight about how much I loved and respected Dr.Fenzl whose correct "on the spot" emergency diagnosis 7 years ago saved me from a life of permanent medication and disability. Under her care and her staff encouragement I was restored to complete health which I still enjoy. I am now 70 and retired in April. We went to the internet tonight only to realize abject sadness about her health and the closing of her practice. If there is anything I can do to help "Dr. Susan" towards her recovery I would love to try. Robert Ross (Miramichi at the time)

I have been a patient of Dr. Fenzyl since she first started in Fredericton I think. I understood her and was always comfortable with her. I have read a few unfair comments about her and it makes me sad. I am going to miss her as a doctor. The people that are angry at her for closing her practice should stop and think about it first, doctors get sick too!! It will be very hard to find a doctor that I trusted as much as her. God bless her and her family.

Dr. Fenzl has been my doctor since I moved to Fredericton in 1992. I have 4 children and have always appreciated Dr. Fenzl's care for my family. I am very concerned for her health right now, because of her past history and knowing that she would not intentionally leave her patients without a doctor. I hope she is okay and , as the previous writer noted, having to cope with finding a new doctor is nothing compared to dealing with a serious health issue. I wish her well and hope it is nothing serious, but my prayers are with her and her family.

I was a fairly new patient of Dr. Fenzls (after my son was born) so I haven't had too much experience with her. I know when I got the letter stating her office would be closed I was VERY upset. I now have an 8 month old with no family doctor. Although I agree it is frustrating beyond belief to find myself in this situation I can only imagine that something major must have happened for this to come about the way it has. I was told that Dr. Fenzl was out some time ago for quite awhile because she had cancer, and found out today from a receptionist at another doctors office that she is once again sick, they're saying her cancer has returned. Not sure if this is 100% accurate, but if so I think I can step back from my own worries/concerns about not having a doctor any longer and just imagine what she and her family must be going through right now. I hope that what I heard isn't true and she is doing well and I hope everyone affected by the closure can find a new doctor soon!

I did not and do not find Dr. Fenzl or her staff to be caring. And now we get a letter stating her office is now permanently closed. GREAT?! So now what???? I would think a responsible doctor would find another doctor for her patients. The letter does not give a time frame for finding another doctor where as our records could be forwarded too. Perhaps we should all request our own files so that we have them and could give them to another doctor if and when we find one. Maybe if we are lucky enough we can find one that works fulltime hours and is not running an hour or so late everyday. I had an appointment first thing in the morning and she walked in 25 minutes late.

I have been with Dr. Fenzl for 17 years and just received a letter stating her office is now closed. What is a person to do about a doctor in this city there are none accepting new patients. I have always had a great relationship with Dr. Fenzl but I am very upset that the only notice of this happening was a letter dated March 9 the office closed. Does anyone know what happened? Is there help for us who now have no family doctor?

I have had Dr. Fenzl for 11 yrs. She considers herself a true "family" doctor, and even though she is not accepting new patients, she does accept everyone who is in the family, including brothers & their spouses. She is thorough, doesn't rush and very kind. My main issue is that she is a PT doctor, keeping PT hours. But, I knew that when I chose her. She does shifts in the ER and until recently covered a nursing home. As such her office hours are limited making appt scheduling hard. Not so good for when you are sick. Also, because she is thorough she tends to run behind. I always call before I go to see if she is on time or not. Office staff (Sherry) is great; always calls back and tries to squeeze in the kids when I need it. I need comment on an earlier post re "8 months stress leave". Dr. Fenzl was given an awful diagnosis, not stress. I am just glad she was able to return to work despite what she went through. The characterization made by the poster is awful.

Dr Fenzl is a very caring person and seems to really know her stuff but doesn't hesitate to refer me to a specialist if there is ever a concern outside of her expertise. She has cared for me through 2 pregnancies and has always been very pleasant and helpful and is great with my toddler who doesn't always like going to the doctor. My only complaint is that she is sometimes very behind schedule and I have waited up to 2 hours past my appointment time before. Sherri the receptionist is wonderful as well.
