My daughter went to dr U for phase 1 braces. He seems to be an aggressive orthodontist. He wants to move teeth early and quickly. Now I find out that my daughter has severe ROOT REABSORPTION probably due to his aggressive movements of her teeth when she was 8 years old!! We have been cautioned that her phase 2 will need to be very careful in order to not cause further damage and to avoid tooth loss. I would be very cautious if using this orthodontist.

Dr U recommended Dr Cosby, both told me I needed surgery to fix a small invisble, structural open bite in which they'd move my top jaw back which would advance my lower jaw automatically fixing my bite. They said I was then an "8" but would be a "10" after, I am now less than a 4! Eve prior surgery was informed that the one & only slightly crooked tooth I had, in the middle front of my mouth would be pulled. What can you say when someone is about to have total control of your face? Had a bad feeling & should have called the whole thing off but went through with it. Dr Cosby's brilliant idea of performing turbinate surgery at the same time could have been my death. After healing from massive blood loss, intensive care & inability to breathe for over a month w/o major difficulty due to being so closed up, discovered I now had a major overbite. DR C admitted he'd moved top jaw fwd instead of back, pretending that was the plan all along. Neither Dr U or Dr C would fix. Watch out!!!!

tried very hard to get my son into braces and was very pushy about it. his assistant kept calling. was told that my (then) 8 year old son would need braces for 18 months, and then would need them again when he was a teenager. got another few opinions and found out that braces now would not help at all, but an expander would be the best thing for now. did not go back to urbaniak. i think they were trying to meet a quota or something by the way they were so pushy. and they were more expensive than the other 2 ortho's I consulted with.

Really knowledgeable with braces. I have seen a massive improvement since I first started.
