DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. Our experience was terrible, nurses were "too busy" visiting to attend to our son, the patient. Did not understand the procedure he was to be having. Could not speak English well enough to explain to us post-op care. We googled this information finally. Unless it was a life or death emergency, I would never step foot in this dirty hospital again!

Seems like the nurses are there for the paycheck only. Lots of visiting amongst them going on. Difficult to understand due to the heavy accents of some which creates poor communications. In fact, they did not even provide any water in the room upon request one small glass was brought, and then not until the next day again. I was very surprised at what in my opinion was very poor nursing care on the ward. I have had way better service from waitresses!!

Will never allow any family member to be admitted here after our experience this summer. Dirty, sticky floor in room - reported it, never did get cleaned. One nurse actually dropped a bandage near this area and I informed her of the mess, she used the bandaid anyways and said it was not contaminated. The night nurse never checked in on our son on his first night stay, although was supposed to be checking his vitals. Was not told he was booked for an ultrasound and had already emptied his bladder. When the OR nurse came down to collect him for surgery after being admitted the night before, he was still in his street clothes - the OR nurse had to search the ward for a gown and dress him. Ward nurses were totally oblivious to entire event. Total absence of any type of nursing care on day 1. Thank God we were there for him!! I don't know how he would have managed otherwise. Get it together Yorkton!!! On plus side, the OR nurse was great and the surgeon was excellent.

There are extremely long wait times. Many of the staff spend more time visiting with each other than quickly meeting patient needs. The hospital is unorganized and cant keep valued personnel that try to do a good job despite resistance on every level. They have expensive equipment and can't keep trained technicians to operate them.Several immigrated nurses have left due to discrimination and resistance to their culturally different way of handling patient care, which is usually more caring, friendly and hands-on.A new hospital isn't going to change these concerns.
