I was sent to the ER because of an abnormal EKG and elevated heart rate. The nurse I had here gave very poor care. Once the EMTs got me to my room they waited and waited for a nurse to come in and sign off that I was there, until he flagged someone down in the hallway to get the attending nurse for him. She (Tiffany) came in, signed off, and began setting up a new EKG for me regardless of the fact that she hadn't said hi or introduced herself (and never did). This continued throughout my day there. When I needed help with my IV so I could walk to the bathroom, pushing the nurse call button did nothing. Eventually the light either went off automatically or was turned off, and I pushed it again. Still no response. Sent my family member to get the nurse after about twenty minutes of waiting. She said she'd be right in. Fifteen minutes later my family member went to get her again. She was grouchy but finally came and unhooked me from the IV and heart monitor. So over half an hour waiting to pee. After that I was never hooked back up. I'd been diagnosed dehydrated among other things yet nobody felt it was necessary to hook my IV or heart monitor back up. I'd given up by this time. Went out myself to speak to the nurse about discharge twice...obviously was not hooked up to anything. Finally flagged down the doctor who was surprised I'd still not seen the other doctor. He got the other doctor and I received all of my lab result information. During discharge, my nurse Tiffany finally decided to hook my IV back up to try to empty the half of bag of fluid into my IV. To cover her mistake? I'm not sure. Regardless it was a little late at that point in my mind. An hour and a half had gone by while she had left me unhooked. If she had been busy with other patients I would not have minded as much but as I was across from the nurses station I can confidently say she was not busy that whole time. A lot of time was spent talking and playing with her ponytail. Worst ER care I've ever seen. I will be going to Hurley or other local hospitals if I have issues in the future.

I went in for knee surgery, I showed up at 6am like I was told. A man took me back to a room told me to change, and someone would be in shortly to start an I.V. I sat reading my book for 2 hours no one came in. As I sat there I heard one of the nurses on the phone leaving a message. It was my machine they were leaving a message on, saying that I was supposed to be there at 6am for an 8am surgery. I opened my curtain and stated to the nurse I was there. She asked when I got there I said 6am, and that a young man but me in this room and told me to change. The male nurse never told the next shift I was there. They were telling me I was going to have to reschedule my surgery because I was late. I wasn't late they lost me. I did finally have the surgery, and I will no longer go into post op without someone with me.
