He is defrauding OHIP, breaches confidentiality by letting his staff show patient charts to general public and he forces people to use the spa and weight loss centres that he owns upstairs. DO NOT GO TO HIM

I was referred to Gupta and will NEVER go back to him again. The office was dirty, the staff were almost all rude to me, as well as Gupta. I felt like I was in a soup kitchen line. He was more concerned with my OHIP card than actually looking at my condition. I had to have my OHIP card present and placed on the examination table so he could review it in the exam room before he even introduced himself. What is that? I already gave it to the front desk staff!- To me, this guy is just out to make money... Not help anyone. He was generally clueless to my condition. At least he referred me to someone else with a better reputation.

every time i have waited for over an hour for my appointment, the last time i was kept waiting 2 hours and had to leave before being seen..at least i didn't wait the 4 hours the guy in the next room did. Overall the staff is very rude and the office seems like they just moved into the building when they have been there for more then 2 years. they use a cardboard box as part of their filing system. Tried to get a referral to another derm but the wait was 8 months for an appt. guess i am stuck with this guy who over books and has no good way to schedule appt's so you aren't left in the waiting room for hours on end.

This doctor really sucks, pardon my french. He was in the room with me about 30 seconds, did not address my concern and displayed no bedside manner whatsoever. Made me feel like I was wasting his time. I would not go to this doctor again and put money is his pocket. He is obviously in it for the $$$, not patient care.

Total Crap Service ! Waste of time and money. Absolutely DO NOT go to him. He spends less than 5 minutes with you in the room. Without properly acknowledging you or your condition. Runs through the procedure like he's got butter chicken waiting for him in the microwave oven. I hate the fact that doctors like these see hundreds of patients and give the patients the run for their time and money without providing less than 5% results. HE has a bad standing in the community too. I mentioned him to my current dermatologist and she said " Ohh, he's not the best to go to" I have had psoriasis for quite sumtime, he put me on UV treatment which made it worst, but him being the way he is. Absolutely did not do anything about it , but just let it continue. Without seeing if there was any change in the skin. DO NOT ! PLEASE DO NOT ENCOURAGE THIS DOCTOR AT ALL !! There are pleanty other better dermatologists in london !!

Talked about my case where many other patients could hear. Demanded I (female) strip while he was in the room with me, with no sheet to cover myself. Had the audacity to suggest my other doctor had sent me there for no reason and maybe a shrink would serve me better. This doctor should be investigated. I left feeling humiliated and degraded. If I was dying I wouldn't let him touch me. I'm shocked this is allowed.

If you can possibly see another dermatologist, do so. This doctor is curt and rude to both patients and staff. He spends no more than a few minutes with you, most of which is consumed by confirming your OHIP number. He runs a meat factory operation, overbooking in an apparent attemt to maximize income, which appears in his book to rank far ahead of curing patients. When I asked for instructions as to how to use the prescribed medicine, he snapped, "They'll be on the label!" If dermatologists weren't in such demand, this man would have no patients.

This doctor is horrible. I have never seen a doc throw charts at his secretary as he runs from room to room. He is very unkept as is his office. His wait times are totally unacceptable. I went to him for acne and he threw a brochure at me as I was leaving and said this is what you have. It had a picture of a disfigured woman on it with extremely severe rosacea. Never went back! He also asks for cash for certain procedures. He must pocket the money without declaring!

Dr.Gupta may well be quite talented in his area. It is hard to know as he is quite distracted. If you go in for toe fungus, he may focus in on your facial wrinkles or sunspots. He seems more focused on his research and other services. He did cure my toe fungus however. Be prepared for a long wait.

I agree 100% with all the negative comments that have been posted about him. I have experienced first hand how much of a waste of human skin he is. Remember though, he wouldn't be in business if you stop giving it to him and strictly STOP going. His staff turnover rate is soo high due to them quitting and his patients hate him, so what does that tell you and "Dr. Gupta how do you sleep at night knowing you are so heartless to all your patients and staff?"

I agree with everyone who said bad comments about him, i am only a child but i was not helped by him at all. I went to his office for more than 8 weeks to sit for 2 hours and even longer to get rid of my wart only to still have it 2 moths later. If you go to this office stop waisting your time, because HE WILL NEVER HELP YOUR PROBLEM! THANK YOU.`

OMG I cannot believe this doctor. I also saw him years ago. Same story as the rest and the only thing I can add is that I had 2 "brown spots" from the sun removed and he charged me, on the spot, to him for the nitrogen to remove them. I thought that seemed strange but it did remove them. Not sure if that is how things are done!?No receipt nothing??? I went because of my roseaca and came out never going back there again!

OMG...I thought I was the only one..this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had..waited 3 hours, given some lotion and told to come back in two weeks..went back and told there was nothing more he could do. No tests, no biopsy, no scraping ...no nothing but look for one second. I now have been told this may be skin cancer by another doctor and they insist I go back to Gupta..I will not...I will drive 200 miles to Toronto to see someone else. I can't understand why the College allows this man to practise. Please pass this information to your family doctors.....there should be no referrals to this man.

Waited 3h to be seen in a waiting room most appropriately described as a zoo. I came in to have a mole on my back looked at. He took a look from 2 meters away and said he'd take it out. Didn't even check my moles on the other side of my body. So, I assume he's actually going to remove the mole right?? No, he does a punch biopsy and leaves a nasty crater in my back when he could have just as easily removed it and I then had to have someone else take it out. As a physician myself, I will never refer any of my patients to him under any circumstances and strongly advise to wait for an appointment with a real dermatologist. I was then seen by Dr Guenther, while she wasn't in his league by any means, I wasn't very happy with my care there either and would suggest someone else.

The worst doctor I have ever had the misfortune to meet. Goal seemed to be getting the maximum number of patients through. OK, if you don't mind being treated like cattle. Unbelievable wait times (due to overbooking). Absolutely no bedside manner. Didn't explain anything, read my file and whirled around and zapped me without even looking at the lesions. Told me to come back for a follow-up and then re-zapped me (the lesions were gone, but I quess he can bill OHIP again.) Asked me to book another follow-up, which I subsequently cancelled - will never go back to this guy again.

My visit was horrible! The wait time was ridiculous. I waited 2 hrs just to have him stick me in a little closet sized, very cold room to wait for another hour. I felt like I was in put in a mental institution! When I finally did see this so called doctor he told me to take of my shirt when only my hand and wrist was infected which seems odd. He looked at me for 1 second and diagnosed me with something I knew wasn’t what I had. He prescribed me an $80.00 cream that I never bought because I knew he was wrong. He wanted me to come back for a follow up in 2 weeks. I asked him if he knew when would be a less busy time so I didn’t have to wait 3 hrs. He appeared offended and stated very rudely "I’m not a family doctor or a dentist I don’t get paid a lot of money that is why the wait times are longer" I never went back to this monster again. My rash went away in a week without his treatment. I will never go back there again! Him and his whole practice are horrible beyond believe.

I won't even get into my horrendous experience with Dr. Gupta last year (rash/allergy related problems) but suffice it to say I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS POSTED. I experienced the exact same things listed; he was uncaring, unknowledgeable, rude... made me feel like crying in frustration, prescribed exoensive creams after talking (and might I add NOT at all listening!) to me for about a minute and a half, and then had the utter nerve & gall to say "let's get you booked for another appt" for no reason at all!! At which point I was so distraught I had to out & out say "Why would I come back when you just told me seconds ago you had no idea what was wrong with me & couldn't help??". There is so much wrong with this doctor, it is scary!! I strongly everyone to beware and avoid visiting Dr. Gupta at all costs. I finally received world's better results from visiting a registered Homeopath.

I was referred to Dr. Gupta a few years ago to remove a mole. As others have stated I waited for hours. There were not enough chairs in the waiting room for the number of patients so I spent much of that time standing. When I was finally seen by the doctor he was in the room for all of two minutes had the mole removed and then moved on to asking me if I would stay and do a "survey" I explained I didn't have time I needed to get back to school and he coerced me into participating. So now I am in another room waiting for one of his staff members to conduct this "survey" When the staff member came in they asked me to remove my shoes and socks - I questioned this as it was supposed to be a survey and they said they needed a sample of my toenail. At this point I said I didn't have time for this I needed to get back to school and got up to leave. The staff member said I couldn't leave until she checked with the doctor. I continued to leave with her yelling at me to come back.

I have seen many Specialists in my life and in different countries. I have never come across a medical Specialist who appears so untidy, already unwashed in the early morning, without a basic manners, running with his little " fire extiquisher" in his hand, and keeping patients waiting and waiting. I was shocked to hear his expresion, I quote " that would cost you 50 BUCKS", That kind of wording would be rather appropriate to a street dealer but not for "reputable in London Specialist." I wonder how come that guy has not been thoroughly investigated by OHIP. It is physically impossible to treat 30 or more patients in one day by one Specialist. OHIP SHOULD REQUIRE from him time record he spends effectively with each patient. It is one of the best method to find out whether OHIP money / taxpayers/ are used in a proper way.

Dr. Gupta's values and culture must be the background to handling his patients. I cannot imagine any other reason than this for herding his patients into the waiting room for hours at a time. After checking out the receptionist booking schedule, I noted that he would have 3 to 4 patients for each 15 minutes. No wonder he falls behind. I have waited from 1 hour to 4 and 1/2 hours for an appointment. (I live out of town) I learned over time, to never go in on a Tuesday after a long weekend, because there will be two days worth of patients in that day, and if you can get into one of his study groups they will take you faster and deal with all the problems. I feel sorry for the man. Basically, he wants you to like him, but I believe the almighty dollar wins out. This has nothing whatsoever to do with race, as I have other doctors with different cultural backgrounds and they are fantastic.

My father was referred to this poor excuse for a Doctor by his family physician. He has never been on time, making many patients, many which are senior to wait hours for their appointments. My father comes in from out of town and often has to pay someone to drive him in for his appointments waiting the 2 or 3 hours only to be rudely handled for all of 2 or 3 minutes when he does get to see Dr.G. He recently told my father to use a very harsh cream in his ears and luckily my father's family Dr told him not too as this could have created an even great problem for my father. I would not recommend anyone going to see him even if referred, insist on seeing someone else.

This doctor is the worst. He runs around asking his staff where he should go next. He has a messy place and you wait over 3 hours. He runs around with his "zapper" in his hand and there are people sitting all over the place, in the halls, in many offices, in his scary waiting room, it's a circus. Prepare yourself. It's absolutely scary this place and does he really have a medical degree? Please somebody check it. BUT he is the only dermatologist you will get to see without a major wait, he'll see you immediately.

This was the most upsetting Dr. Visit I have ever had. I drove 5 hours from Northern Ontario, 2 days from work to see this so called specialist. My first visit I was told he couldn't do anything for me, I had polish on my toe nails, and I shouldn't wear acrylic nails. I wasn't there to see about my nails but a skin rash. After being dismissed, and told to come back when my rash was more visible, I left in tears and drove 5 hrs home again. It gets better, when the rash reappeared I braved another visit. The Dr's assistant left forms on his counter that were to be signed by him, so that I could receive some travel compensation, he said he wouldn't sign it without reading it, I explained what it was for and that his staff had taken care of it previously. He said he would charge $30. The grant says Drs can't charge for it. I suggested next time I should make it worth my trip & have lipo. He said for me to. Left in tears for the second time. Very Nasty Man,never go back there.

My 1st appointment was at 10:00 AM. He saw me at approx. 1:30 PM. I arrived for my 2nd appointment right on time. I counted 31 people in the waiting roon, presumedly ahead of me and on the receptionist's recommendation went for lunch and a nap in the car. I finally saw Dr. Gupta approx. 2.5 hrs. after my appointed time. This took a large chunk out of my day that I could have used much more productively. Dr. Gupta has no respect for his patients or their time. I now book my appointments for 6:30 A.M. and widen the time between them as much as they will let me.

This person is by far the WORST doctor I have ever seen. His appointments are meanigless. He will book you for a 7:45 AM appointment and you will not see him untill 10:30 AM or later. When I was in his waiting room, resembling a cattle barn with the number of people waiting, I saw him treat a woman in a partially closed storage closet!! An absolute travisty of medicine. Keep as far away as you can from the clinical trials he uses to increase income at the expense of his patience.

People in London are obviously ****, and I suppose any brown skinned doctor (or person) would get this treatment by any white "working class" individual. Dr. G is smart, honest and does not play into your own self-manipulation. If you cant see that, then it is obviously because you only see brown. Shameful. He is a good doctor.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST DOCTOR I'VE EVER SEEN!!! WAITED OVER 3 HOURS TO GET INTO HIM BECAUSE HE TRIPLE BOOKS!!! AS soon as he saw me his reception (assistant-whatever) came into the office and began discussing a previous patients file in front of me. He quickly diagnosed my problem and said see him again in 6 weeks. Made me feel really rushed and not valued!! Never went back and asked my physician to refer me elsewhere!!! DO NOT GO SEE HIM UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT FOR 3 HOURS FOR A 2 MINUTE APPOINTMENT MAXIMUM!!!!!

My appointment was at 6.45am. I showed up early and watched him read emails until 7.10 when I was called into an office where I waited until 7.50 when he came in. I asked if there was an emergency or something that caused him to waste my time. He became angry and suggested that he worked for peanuts per day, I laughed. He called one of his assistants and asked her to close my file. I was referred elsewhere by my GP and received great treatment. Hold out for another Dematologist!

I often waited over 3 hours, then he would not answer my questions, he was rude to his staff and he would barely acknowledge that I the patient was there. I think I would have been better off to stick with my family doctor. He would look at my skin condition and would simply say "just keep doing what you are doing." I do not need to waste so many hours of my day to hear absolutely nothing helpful.

I waited for about 2 hours in the waiting room before seen by his assistant. She took all my symptoms down. That did not make me very comfortable. After 10-15 minutes the doctor came in. Looked on my OHIP card which I had to have it ready before he arrived. My problem concern my face. Not even onece he looked on my face, or discussed my concerns or symptoms with me. Gave me diagnosis basically based on nothing, prescribed some cream and told me that laser is the only thing that will help me with my condition. Laser treatments are very expensive and are not for everyone. He asked for my occupation as well as for my husbands. I left with the feeling that he wanted my money only, because he did not discuss my condition at all. I was expecting some kind of advices, words of ecuragement or somtning to this extend. My visit was no longer then 3 minutes. I left very confused and back to square 1.I am waiting to see other professional for the second opinion. He probably has a lot of knolege

As a current employee (for the time being) as I am sure that Dr. Gupta will be wrongfully dismissing me soon for voicing my opinions on his ethical practices regarding his patients, employees' and clinical trials. I feel that it is in the best interest of the patients to be warned ahead of time if you have not seen him yet. And this is a warning for anyone who is going to see him. He is not honest with treatments and will try to convince you that one of his clinical trials is your only option for treatment and it is not!!! He's more concerned with the money he will be making off of your treatment than with what treatment is BEST for you. Trust me. I know. Because I am losing my job over the fact that I am more concerned with the patients rights and needs. I firmly believe that Dr. Gupta needs to start following the ethical guidelines that not only regulate clinical trials but also patient care.

I cant for the life of me understand how he could charge people $45.00 for a pair of "required " UVB glasses. That has got to be the biggest rip-off I have ever seen a professional do. There is no way on gods green earth that they cost him more than $5.00. He doesn't even give you an opportunity to go to Wal-Mart and buy a pair of UVB goggles/glasses for $5.00. I hope he enjoys spending the money he bleeds from the poor working class. He should be ashamed, but I bet hes not !

Being an expeditor since age 13, I know how to eliminate wait times in doctor's ofcs like Gupta's and was always seen within a few mins of my arrival, often ahead of time (scheduled appt). No, I'm not a doctor; and have never alleged being one to get preferential treatment. I have been Dr. Gupta's dermatology pt for over 20 yrs though and have consistently been very pleased with the services he provides. He's extremely knowledgable, rarely plays stupid, and has consistently been as helpful as possible, providing free samples of correct medications when he has them available, directing me to less expensive pharmacies, etc. More recently, he's moved to a better location where he also corrected his previously abominal patient scheduling practices, so now there aren't any more line-ups and overfilled waiting rooms. I would readily recommend him to anyone.

Be prepared for the wait time- wait time is long for that day, but with other dermatologists you will wait months to get in- he will see you much more quickly- in weeks, not months. Solved my daughter's acne problem quickly and efficiently. She is very grateful.

This doctor is definitely there for the money. He was actually running through hallway yelling at the staff. Without any kind of greeting or even acknowledging that I am there he told me how much it would cost and to make an appointment for the procedure. NO THANK YOU!!!!!

Worst doctor my daughter & I have ever been to. Never on time, barely listens, insulting and condescending. Tries to sell expensive treatments not paid by OHIP that have nothing to do with why you are there. I have never been so angry in my life & was wondering who I could complain to. Thank you for this site. He had my daughter in tears & now she's reluctant to see another dermatologist for fear of being treated that way again. We went back to our family doctor & insisted on being referred to another dermatologist. We were told the waiting list was 8 months long, but went ahead with the referral & requested we be added to the cancellation list. That dermatologist's office started calling almost right away with offers for alternative appointment dates that were only a week away. Keep this in mind & don't be discouraged by an estimated lengthy waiting list. Don't agree to see Gupta just cause you'll get in sooner. It's not worth it. Try to see someone else that will give a damn.

I seeked help for several skin disorders for over 2 years , (with a referal from my family physician) and EACH time...waited at least 3-4 & sometimes 5 hours to be seen. EACH time...he didn't ask questions...Just simply Zapped my effected areas with Nitrous & Left the room. Usually screaming at the help (nurses and office staff) for something ! DOZENS of People would be standing in the waiting room ,(NO chairs left) waiting their turn ! I finally QUIT GOING, as my nerves were getting the best of me. SINCE not using the creams he prescribed...my skin condition seems better. Thank You...

Save your time and don't even go to this doctor. Rude, rushed, and no knowledge at all. Turn over with staff is huge and it's never the same people there. About a 4-5 hour wait at his clinic. They tell you to come back later. Save your time and go to another doctor.

I used to work for this man and found him to be a greedy, rude, untrusting individual. He will proposition elderly people and talk them into buying different light therapy, skin treatments, medications and just about anything else that would make him money. I could not stand to be a part of this and found a much better job. He****his female staff and leaves his patients in the waiting room with no lights to save money on hydro. I would advise anyone to think twice before taking a referral to him. there are better doctors that may take longer but its worth the wait for a real doctor who will spend the time with you and treat you with respect.

My husband and I have both seen this doctor and we both had the same experience...horrible! He is indeed more concerned about looking at your toe nails than addressing what you came in for. After waiting for 2.5 hrs just to get into the examination room and another 40 min waiting there, he was completely rude to my husband when my husband refused to take off his shoes to examine his feet. My husband was there for something else entirely. He was rude to his staff and had no bedside manner what so ever. He just wants you to keep coming back so he can recieve the money from OHIP. Shame on him!

Without looking at my chart he started treating me for something I wasn't even seeing him about. He tried selling this procedure and tried to convince me I needed this treatment. When I said I wanted to stick to the topic of why I was there, he quickly glanced at my condition and told me he couldn't help me. IF YOUR NOT WILLING TO PAY, HE'S NOT WILLING TO TREAT.

I get the feeling that he needs to rush to next patient without really taking the time to fully look at your chart to see what you were there for before.

Always in a rush - doesn't want to listen - too many people being seen at one time in different exam rooms. Got very angry when we asked to have time to speak with primary care physician before consenting to a risky treatment. Very cursory exam considering full body and head involvement and history of basal cell ca. Ceased treatment by him due to concerns expressed above.

I agree with the wait times. Got to my appt early and was told approx 2 hrs adn I may as well go shopping. Came back in 1.5 hrs and waited ANOTHER 1.5 hrs. What a joke but what are you supposed to do? Go on someone else's huge waiting list? He did give me the ointment i needed but didn't see me more than 2 minutes once I did get in

only concerned with your OHIP number and booking repeat business. Seems to know what to do, but clearly in it for the $$$$. Wait times are totally unacceptable, even if you book a 06:45 AM appointment still need to wait!

i've gone here for a year and i've come to the conclusion that there is really no appointment schedule, it's really just that if your name is down they expect you to show up that day at some point. to his credit, he solved my problem, but it's not enough to excuse the 2 hour waits, the 2 minute consultations, and all else that others here have complained about.

Waited an hour and a half for daughters appointment. He barely looked at her skin condition, and proceeded to prescribe the same medication that our family doctor had given us, that didnt work, so obviously did not read the history of treatment provided by our GP.

Very unorganized. You wait too long before being seen. Runs from room to room with his little tank of liquid nitrogen under his arm. Doesn't even ask about the problem you came to see him about until you remove shoes and socks to see if you have a toenail fungus (he is doing some sort of survey which has been going on for many years now.) Even asks if you brought someone with you so he can check their toenails too. Much too focused on this than whatever problem you came in for.

I agree with you. Ex. of his $-grubbing attitude -- my Mother underwent a costly (yet very good) cosmetic procudure (approx. $1000 -- he stated this as the maximum). Within 6mo. he had forgotten she had it done & then proceeded to sell the procedure into her mind again... worthless Dr. Does he not keep records/files of anyone???? Or is he simply ignorant?

In my opinion, this doctor pushes patients through like a McDonald's fast food patient. He requests OHIP information before he even introduces himself...and reads it back twice to ensure that he will be able to bill the Ontario government. He was not thorough in his diagnosis, and spent all of 2 seconds...before rushing out to push the next 60 patients through the door in a similar manner. With the Salary/Patient cap now lifted, this doctor is sure to abuse the system and cash in, in a big way. I would suggest if at all possible choosing another dermotologist who is interesting in the role of being a doctor vs. the role of becoming wealthy. Your second best option if you cannot see another doctor would be to use the internet...you will find more useful information vs. your alternative. I want to mention this site is VERY NEEDED in Canada and great job to the creator. This won't affect the American system as much as the Canadian due to the shortage of doctors - nice wake up call

Unacceptable wait times due to his favoured research projects. I went 3 times, each wait was no less that 3 hours after appt time. Signed up for research and had no wait. Rude to staff, brusk and fails to give patient good information, such as what the condition is. Waiting 4 hours for a 2 minute session where I cannot finish my questions is not good. Otherwise he was a nice man, who seems to care on some level.

A very good dermatologist, I am sure (he has a sharp eye to spots to 'zap'); he has much too heavy of a patient-load, though. He does not allow himself the extra time to truly investigate his patients concerns.

I found this doctor to be very helpful and kind. He diagnosed and treated a nail problem that 2 other doctors could not treat. He also shared some of his research findings and treated me with a great deal of respect.

This was the WORST doctor I have ever seen. He made me wait for about two hours to see him. Then he sent out one of his assistants to the waiting room who started discussing personal information about my condition in front of other patients. When I finally got in to see him, he would not discuss my problem until I took off my shoes to let him look at my feet for his survey. People like this should not be allowed to practice medicine.
