I was in a car accident back in December. I was T-boned by another car and was taken to Victoria General Hospital. I got into the hospital around 10:00pm that night and waited until 8:00am to get check out by the doctor then until 9:00am to get stitches. It was just dreadful waiting. People who had walked in complained about stomach pains got to go in before patients with bloody faces and knees. Absolutely horrifying.

Was in for a routine septoplasty. I found to nurses to be caring, kind and professional. Nurse Teri was my nurse and she was great! Quick to offer help even though she was busy with other patients. She would always check and see how I was doing. I always appreciate a good R.N. They deal with a lot of rude people in their care, I try to do whatever I can to make their job as easy as I can. They are a special breed for sure.

The great nurses, support staff, clinicians, and doctors of floor 6 saved my life! For most it is not a job; it is a true calling! But please fix those beds, if you have already, GREAT! I never would have thought that I would have fond memories of a psych ward; but I do!! 🙆😃☺

To have to wait 5 1/2 hours is absolutely absurd! Was in a head on collision, brought in by ambulance, couldn't walk and had to wait that long. Finally seen by Dr. Seuss who only talked to me and checked my pulse. No examination for broken bones or fractures and no examination of pain in chest. Told that I would be in a lot of pain for a very long time. That's it!! No recommendation to see my own physician, no pain management, no X-rays, nothing!! Useless, absolutely useless! Don't waste your time going to Victoria Emergency. Go to see your own doctor ASAP or go to a walk in clinic if you can. I should have gone home to rest and recover from the shock instead of sitting in a room full of stressed out patients who were also waiting for up to 12 hours. I saw my own physician the next day who took the car accident injury seriously and took good care of me. X-rays, medication and physio were necessary not "you're going to be in pain for a long time"!!! Victoria Emergency is a joke.

I was in a rollover accident where my vehicle flipped 4 times and landed hard on the roof, we were taken to Victoria hospital and we waited 6 hours to be looked at for 2 minutes. We were told we were fine.... The next day we got a second opinion due to our pain level & because I'm 4 months pregnant And we were worried about our baby .... Then we find out everything's not ok. Such a disappointment and it's very frustrating

The ER doc; which changes often so i won't generalize all emerg doc's in this hospital. I will however express my experience this past week, on June 21 2013 with bad abdominal pain post surgery in May. The triage nurse was not overly pleasant but the most pleasant person i had experienced. The receptionist, (i hope you are reading this) you are horrible. Snappy, which you should not be, you have no idea what the people who come through emerg are going through and having a person like you being rude does not lighten the load of the patient. Ive worked in pediatrics for 10 years and know how professionalism works while in the health care field. When i got called in, the doc had no confidence, an introvert would be appropriate description. The nurse who was sent in to take my I.V out well i still have shooting pain up my arm from her pressing on the tube before extracting it out of my arm. Plus i had to wait hours after they said i could leave. i could go on but WOW!! disgusted patient

but a sick one should not have to wait only wait the longest is 1 hour .get more drs .and more nurses . have one place in the hospital where all bad sick people go in fast . and one place that got cuts and burns broken bones or broken anything in a other place in hospital . then you would not have so much wait time .... and people are sick in all hospitals .they should not go out for smokes .they should not have free meds in halers if they cant breath .they smoke they all should not get free free phamacare ...ithey sick still smoke need nothing . you would soooo much money . make smokers pay for all there own meds.... you would see how far people would smoke . put your foot down no hospitals .......... i agree .but i see you will have some hospital where no sick ones cant go smoke .....im sooooo glad should have done this years ago . manitoba health has to put there foot down on these smokers dont get free meds
