Thank you for your high rating. It is interesting that you wrote "videocassette" - I don't use those. I wonder if this is a type, did you mean "videocalls"? We also don't record sessions except, during the very first videocall session, we record your consent and understanding of the house rules. In the past, we used Skype which allowed the recording, and the file was accessible to both party for 30 days (unlike in Zoom). Now I hope we could continue this practice in Teams. Please note that some clients (wisely) ask to record the sessions so they have access to our discussions later. After all, there is no such a thing as memory :)

Doctor Trofimova had only Skype sessions with me but they were more helpful as in-person sessions with our company's social worker. She started from reviewing my medical problems and it made a lot of sense at the end, to connect it to my anxiety, low mood and sleep problems. I see now how important it is to know physiology to fix my psychological problems. I was glad that it wasn't just "abstract talks" but more detailed look at my life.

This doctor is professional and very knowledgeable, it is a pleasure learning the answers to my questions in such simple and yet scientific terms. I must admit, I should take notes, to remind myself what we talked about. Plus she is efficient in her recommendations, at least more efficient than the CBT group therapy that I went through before.

Irina preferred sessions using Skype, which I didn't have so I had to install it. Not a big deal, but I just to let you know here. Thank you, Irina, it was helpful.

Just to thank you Dr Trofimova. Completing her intake forms and having an assessment session was already helpful to look at my situation from another perspective. Plus the way she comments and asks questions was helpful for me to see potentials for my changes. I just wish psychologists were not so expensive :( Still, she differed from another psychologist that I saw - she is not as formal and yet much more knowledgeable. It sounds like she knows biology very well. I plan to use my insurance coverage next year to return to our sessions.

Now bio: She completed her PhD in the Laboratory of Differential Psychology and Psychophysiology under the Institute of Psychology, Russian Academy of Sciences in 1995 She was teaching in several Moscow Universities; was the first president of the Russian Synergetic Society; She immigrated to Canada in 1997 and obtained her license for practicing psychology in Ontario in 1999, with a full license in 2004. In addition to her practising as a Licensed Psychologist, she conducts extensive research in psychology in the area of personality, temperament, clinical, evolutional and mathematical psychology, as well as evolution theory, diversity theory, neuroscience and mathematical modelling. She is the author of the neurochemical framework that highlights neurochemical biomarkers in temperament traits in healthy people and symptoms of psychopathology.
