Dr. Dave is a knowledgeable, capable physician but was unapproachable in all our interactions. I use the word "unapproachable" very carefully; I am aware that society expects more "niceness" from women and that is wrong. Each visit, I felt that she did not want me in the room. At one point I described the mental distress a health problem was causing me and it was awkward to explain, as I noticed a lack of concern or empathy. A med student can pass their exams with flying colours and follow every protocol, but if the social skills are lacking, patients will avoid them. We come to doctors at their our most vulnerable moments. I will stick with physicians that show more care toward their patients.

She kept calling me East Indian when I was not. Also, she kept cutting me off everytime I was trying to explain my situation.

Very rude and condescending. Was picking food out of her teeth During my appointment and had her hand on her lips/mouth the entire time, not once using sanitizer or washing her hands

She may have the knowledge but she certainly lacks the ability to relate to patients. She is abrupt, lacks empathy and is dismissive. I will ask which doctor is on at the BCIT clinic in the future to ensure that I don't see her again.

I have seen Dr. Mala Dave quite a few times at the BCIT clinic, and while she has been helpful for some very straightforward diagnoses and prescriptions, I have not had good experiences with her for more complex matters. She dominates the conversation, is dismissive of my questions and comments, and speaks down to me. Her condescending attitude makes me feel like I am wasting her time, when in reality she is wasting mine because without addressing my concerns or letting me talk I am forced to come back for another appointment. I have left every appointment frustrated that she has continually cut me off and frustrated that she has jumped to conclusions based on snap judgments, without offering much in the way of explanation or discussion. If you have a complex or chronic health concern that requires ongoing support and an empathetic touch, you might like to try a different physician. I understand that school clinic’s aren’t the best place for treating ongoing issues, but this is the only option that many students have!

I have seen this doctor twice and I actually ended up walking out the 2nd time because of the way she was speaking to me. She was rude and condescending, I didn't feel like she was listening at all and she was acting like she would rather be anywhere than there. I've been in pain for over two weeks and finally broke down to go to the clinic as I can't get into my family doctor right away and I was made to feel like I was putting her out somehow. Very disappointing, I have seen many other doctors at the BCIT Clinich that are delightful and kind. It was a very uncomfortable situation for me, she really needs to work on her approach with patients.

I saw Dr. Mala Dave today at BCIT campus and couldn't have had a better experience. Would absolutely go back. Would recommend. Not sure why the negative reviews

I only saw Dr Dave twice and that was enough. She was very arrogant and spoke down to me. She has no idea on how to put a patient at ease and instead spoke to me as if I was an idiot.

I tore my ACL, medial meniscus and lateral meniscus in my left knee. She said there was nothing wrong with my knee :S I ended up going to a physiotherapist who within a minute knew something serious was wrong with my knee. I'm not expecting her to be as knowledgeable as a physiotherapist but to say nothing is wrong instead of referring me to someone more knowledgable than her is unacceptable.

Young, efficient and enthusiastic. Will go far as possible to look for health solutions.
