Biography
Dr. Johanna Choremis is an ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in cornea, cataracts and complex cataracts, anterior segment, and refractive surgery. After medical school at McGill University on a Hugh Brock scholarship, she completed her residency at the same institution. She then pursued a fellowship at Tufts University in Boston on an EA Baker fellowship. Upon returning to Montreal, she worked at both universities, at the Jewish General Hospital and at the CUO of Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. She is a clinical professor at both Universities and recently promoted to associate at University of Montreal. Over the years, she has trained hundreds of residents and cornea transplant fellows from around the world. She has authored multiple publications and has presented at national and international conferences. Her primary interests are corneal transplantation and dry eye disease. She currently serves as Section Head of Cornea at the Université de Montréal.
