5 surgeries I only needed bone spurs removed from my neck! Dr Makker is in Mexico today doing surgeries! He put pins rods screws anterior compression plate broke 4x! I found one neurosurgeon that did the repair needed to keep me from being paralyzed! Dr makker did this to over 300 of is unnecessary surgeries for money! He also got us addicted to OxyContin and much more! No criminal charges against him however I had to repay Medicare $130K Dr makker you better have eyes in the back of your head and great security 24/7 around you! My rating for Dr Makker is -5 on everything!

This guy was a hack, had his license taken from him and had dozens of malpractice claims filed for his crappy work. Any positive reviews are fake. He should be in prison.

I had four surgeries with Dr makker 2 lower back a middle back and neck spinal back in 2010 and 2006. Thanks to him it's 2018 now and I'm a success too! I think other surgeons in the STATE OF Portland were jealous of Dr makker because he was a great doctor and I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart he's still young and he could help so many people but somebody has done him wrong and it's not right. WE NEED MORE DR. Maker's 👍☆☆☆☆☆

I found Dr Makkar by accident. He was excellent! I had 2 surgeries on my spine. The first one was titanium screws in 2 discs, spacers and what looks like staples in the xray. Some months later the disc under it went bad and he put the sames things in the next one down. That was 10 years ago and I have not had any problem since. I am 67 now and I can still touch my toes with some relaxation. I have osteoporosis and arthritis. I then took Reclast for the osteoporosis and I believe that has been the key to my success. I have not lost any height at all and no more back problems. Dr Makkar is a fine surgeon. I believe he was attacked because he would do Medicare and Medicaid. If all he owed to Medicare was $78 thousand that could be chalked up to billing errors, reimbursement errors, clerical errors on either end. To this day I would still allow him to do the surgery. When reading some of these cases I wonder.....as I sat in the waiting room, patients came in that had huge guts or crippled up because they swayed so bad their hips joints were shot. They were obviously in severe pain. Dr. Makkar never lied to me. He gave no guarantee. You cannot stop people from not taking care of themselves, eating right, exercising, giving up caffeine which depletes your calcium weakening bones etc. All 30 lawsuits were filed AFTER other md's went after him because he would do surgeries they wouldn't. The strain on their spines must have been horrendous but they expected a quick fix and didn't lose weight, which would have greatly increased their chances of success. I call that opportunistic..."Gee, maybe we can get rich off this". I call foul on this. L. Young

I am disturbed that this Dr. is so highly rated on this site, Dr.Makker has had serious problems with fraudulent insurance billing and 10x the spine surgeries for this area compared to other DR of this field. I thought thought I saw a WSJ article mentioning he was stripped of his license. Maybe I'm mistaken, if so I apologize but I am going to verify.

After a series of frustrating appts with several uncaring/unbelieving Dr's & surgeons. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Makker. Dr. Makker was the 1st to actually listen to the story of my prior spine surgery & the resulting complications. More importantly he didn't dismiss my thoughts that the hardware installed in my Back had been installed incorrectly or had failed. The prior Dr's had informed me that it was impossible for the part to fail. Dr. Makker performed an exploratory surgery to inspect the part & to remove it if possible. He discovered that the hardware had indeed failed & had become loose. There were several razor sharp teeth on this piece of hardware that were supposed to be imbedded into the bone to hold it into position. Instead, it had become loose & moved with any activity, chewing up the 2 vertebra. I slowly began to improve after removing that piece. Unfortunately permanent damage occurred during the years it was in place. Thank you Dr. Makker for improving my life.

To anyone thinking of using him I would recommend to check with the Oregon Medical Board and the class action lawsuits. My life has been changed forever with over 7 procedures, where after every procdure I came out having more complications and more problems. Then eventually after viewing an MRI, after being a client of Dr. Makker's for over 7 years, I was referred to another specialist,, who informed me that some those procedures were unnecessary . As a result of his last procedure he has caused permanent damage to 2 other parts of my body, caused by nerve damage from his procedure. This is causing serious life changing conditions, emotionally, physically and financially for the rest of my life. He has moved to a new location claiming, for his clients convenience, this is not correct, his privileges to do surgical procedures were revoked by Providence Hospital. In my opinion this says enough.
