20/10/11 5 3 5 5 This Doctor saved my life. If you want bedside manners than then get some old Oprah tapes and watch those. Dr. Cha is very knowledgeable, takes consise dictation of every appt. and is highly respected by family practitioners. If you're fat and overweight or a smoker and this attributes to your condition you need to be told so, and since these are self inflicted, perhaps even scolded. If so, you've come to the right Doctor. Good on him for telling it as it is. Excellent staff, and they run a very tight ship for a very busy office. I like my medical findings not wrapped in candy floss. If you are the same, Dr. Cha comes with the highest recommendation from me.  Respond

21/04/11 4 4 5 5 Anyone who has seen this doctor and has had a bad experience probably would have had a bad experience with any doctor - if you are fat you are fat - its his job to tell me what I need to hear and tell me what I need to do. He does care, he will tell you the truth and if you can't handle it, jump in the big black hole!  Respond

17/01/11 4 4 4 4 I find Dr Cha very knowledgable and will answer questions. I find him straight to the point - which is good. So what if he is like House except Dr Cha does not need till 5 minutes left in the appointment to figure it all out. He is all business and no play. I am looking for a Doctor to handle my health - not Patch Adams  Respond

08/12/10 3 4 4 4 I had Dr. Cha as my Internist for a few years. At first, I found him to be very serious and abrupt. As I got to know him more, I realized that he really does care about his patients and their progress. I think he did his best for me. Since I have moved, I am not receiving the same care.  Respond

21/11/10 5 3 5 5 Dr Cha really got the ball moving and did not waste time, he was to the point and make sure I got proper medical care, he did not try to keep me in the hospital because that is easier for him. He spent time calling around to local hospital to get my medical treatment faster and because of that I had a great recover.  Respond

10/11/10 4 2 1 1 Put me on more medication, sent me to the dietician who suggested that I eat 1/4 bagel and 1/2 banana as a whole meal. Put me on Meridia (now withdrawn from market) when I was on antidepressants (total contraindication) which he knew because he had the bottle in his hand. Waste of time and rude to boot.  Respond

05/01/10 3 1 1 1 BEWARE!!!! Dr. Cha is in the wrong profession. He was rude and told me that I was 'fat' and told me nothing that I didn't already know. To date I have yet to hear from his dietician that he sends his patients to if he is confidient that you are able to stick to the diet( at least 6 weeks). He repeatly told me that I was a failure and implied that people that are over weight can't stick to the diet and fail all the time. Also his office is fifthly. His staff aren't the sharpest and don't understand the meaning of privacy as they speak so loudly that the entire waiting room can hear you. BEWARE!!!!  Respond

20/03/09 3 3 1 2 Dr is rude and unaware of it. Awful bedside manner. He rushed us into the room and back out of the door. If we asked a question he answered it quickly and acted as if we should already know the answer. We were so disappointed with this MD we waited 7 more months to see someone else.  Respond

03/10/08 4 4 5 5 Took the time required to deal with my case [heart attack history]. He was the only doctor at Lakeview who pushed to get me to Centenary quickly for an angiogram and then angioplasty. Other doctors would have had me wait for several more days [that was the case with my 1st attack]. I switched to Dr.Cha from another Cardiologist [was in my former Cardio docs office with all the classic heart attack symptoms and he said take it easy and we will schedule a cardiolite test next week] Dr.Cha took my case seriously with a sense of urgency  Respond

22/07/08 2 3 3 5 Rushed or Efficient? Definitely rushed...he actually ran down the hall after calling me in during one appointment! Nice enough but I couldn't stand being rushed all the time. Found a new specialist who wasn't interested in prescribing meds.  Respond
RID: 639825
16/07/08 1 1 2 3 Unreasonable waiting times. Waiting rooms overflowed with people. Rushes through your appointment. Doesn't listen to you. Didn't even deal with the issue I was referred for. Only wanted to push diet pills.  Respond

18/04/08 4 3 4 4 I felt very rushed. Couldn't wait to finish with me because his waiting room was FULL of people. He left office to attend to someone else; took telephone call. He probably is a good doctor but was over scheduled!  Respond

09/04/07 2 1 3 he made me feel that I was just another overweight individual looking for a quick fix!!Was not interested in why I was referred to him, eager to write prescription for diet pills which made me violently sick,no follow up from a dietician.Sitting in his office I thought I was in a pill factory.  Respond

05/04/07 2 2 4 Dr. James Cha seems to be bored that a disorder or disease has a human attached to it. Be ready to answer all questions immediately and without reservation. Get the feeling he is running an assembly line at his office. Has no bedside manner. May be brilliant but could do with people sensitivity training.  Respond
