I recently moved back to NB from Ontario because my disability has left me unable to work. I called the Marysville Clinic to have some forms filled out for my CPP-Disability application. Dr Hughson was immediately dismissive and began talking over me, saying "that sounds like bureaucratic work. I don't do that. I do medical work and those forms won't improve your condition." He then told me I couldn't be seen in the clinic regardless because my COVID vaccines from Ontario aren't valid in New Brunswick. I've contacted other medical professionals including the CPSNB and found out that was a lie. This was all despite the fact that I'd informed him I have no other source of income and could die or become homeless without access to CPP-D.
Hello , I am new to And just moved into the Fredericton area last October .I phoned the Marysville walk in Clinic . I called to speak to Dr. Hansen, but instead I received a call back from Dr. Hughson. I’m found him to be very well spoken on the phone. He let me have the time to explain my medical issues with him. I have never met this Doctor in person, but let me tell you, I was just so happy and pleased that he called me back. He was very helpful and kind to me on the phone. From the comments I read here which say he is gruff and arrogant, I never heard this from him on the phone. Besides I like gruff and I like a man or woman in whichever career they hold a position in to be straightforward with me. Call me crazy, which I am most of the time, after all you need a dang good sense of humour to survive in this crazy world. So to Doctor Mike Hughson I say to you “Thank You” so very much for taking the time out of your busy day to call me back. It sure was deeply appreciated .
I like his no-nonsense style. If you can understand and like Dr. House (TV character), you will like him.
God. I used to love Dr Hughson. Wait until years go by This "medical professional" can't hold himself back by having to say at least one "witty" aka more like mentally abusive joke without hanging up the call. How about you all listen to the song Drug Dealer by Macklemore or read the lyrics Give some serious thought into this only if you're a regular patient I loved Dr Hughson the first time i met him. Remember when Dr. Hanson received 5000-6000 signatures for a petition titled "Bring Dr. Everette Hanson Back?" Guys, Dr. Hanson may look young but he's well into his sixties and eventually retirement will happen sadly sooner than later. Do you want Dr Hughson in charge of everything again or do you want to start a petition "Please Remove Dr. Michael Hughson From Marysville Walk-In Clinic."?? Dr.Hughson treats his staff well from what I hear. He is also great with babies as I have seen. Well. None of that matters really in an ongoing pandemic. To Dr Hanson & Staff - I'm unsure you guys even realize that you operate better than a hospital, family doctors office...Covid 19 actually proved you care the most no matter how busy that phone line is. You guys keep up the great work As for Mike, get lost and work at the DECH where you may fit in a little better. Kindesr Regards.
I had Mike as my flight surgeon since he graduated med school until I retired 2 yrs ago. Brilliant and witty, he took great care of me and my very special brand of craziness. The last Rx to me simply said "retire now". which I did. Those 2 words saved my life. I can see how the Karen's and Kens of the world would find him gruff, but I never had an issue. Informative to a fault and compassionate, Mike is one of the good guys. I always felt there was going to be a quiz after every visit as he would verbally download volumes of what was going on and why it was causing me issues. I'd go to see him in private practice if I didn't live so far away.
Can anyone leave the contact details (telephone number) of this doctor? Thank you
Saw him for post concussion syndrome symptoms and was told to read a book slamming chiropractors. I was in no need of a chiropractor. Also, reading is not recommended when dealing with concussion issues. As a patient, I don't need caudled, i need be listened to.
Although he is definitely no Dr Hanson I saw him instead and didnt mind him. He diagnosed me with cellulitis ... I got a second opinion of course.... turns out it was a kidney stone!!!!
Totally arrogant, doesn't listen to or care about his patients needs.
